This thread will be devoted to CFB recruiting stuff. Feel free to help keep the forum informed
    on any recruiting news.

Kansas - Over the last three months, Les Miles has picked up five commits. Three-star wide
receiver Keith Miller is the highest rated prospect of the group, rated No. 964 overall. Fellow
WR Trevor Kardall is just behind rated at No. 970, while 3-star receiver Keenan Hambrick rounds
out the group. Kansas also has a pair of top-10 in-state recruits. Tight end Will Huggins and
athlete Da Harden are 8th and 10th in Kansas respectively. Kansas has not had a top-50 class
    since 2014.

Georgia Tech - New coach Geoff Collins and his staff have basically lived on the recruiting trail.
Since the beginning of March, Collins has landed 12 verbal commitments. The headliner is 4-star
cornerback Miles Brooks, who is the program's first top-200 commit since 2012. WR Ryan King
(No. 418), LB Tyson Meiguez (No. 507) and CB Jalen Huff (No. 559) highlight the remaining
    group.

North Carolina- Mack Brown has prioritized the connecting states, holding 6 in-state commitments
with 3 others from Georgia, 2 from Virginia and 1 from South Carolina. Included is four 4-stars,
including a top-250 prospect in safety Cam Sinclair. The others are WR Josh Downs, LB Ethan
West and receiver Ray Grier. Tight end John Copenhaver and OT Trey Zimmerman give the Tar
Heels a few more top-500 talents.

The TRANSFER PORTAL is the NCAA's name for the database it maintains to track which athletes
have notified their schools they wish to transfer. The big change from last year's rules reform was
players no longer needed to request permission to transfer. Schools and coaches no longer stop
a transfer and dictate where the athlete goes. The point of the Portal was to create transparency
and order. Instead of deals being struck under the table even before players officially were granted
their release, now every school in the country has a chance to make a pitch. One coach at a pro-
minent program in the south (not SEC) said 40 percent of their time now is concentrating on guys
    that are leaving other places.
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A week after entering the transfer portal after one semester at FLORIDA, defensive back Chris Steele
has announced his intention to transfer to Oregon. The top-50 recruit made the decision public on
Tuesday. Although he'll enroll as a freshman, Steele will not count toward Oregon's 2019 recruiting
    class.

Seven programs currently have at least one commitment from a TOP-25 PROSPECT In CALIFORNIA.
Oregon leads the way with three, followed by LSU with two, while Alabama, Clemson, Stanford, USC
    and Washington each have one.

    ACC with 3 of top 6, 4 of top 9, 5 of top 13?

SEC with just 4 of top 16?

Where is Auburn? And what about Texas?

Yeah MWS, Auburn and Texas out of the top-25 is unusual and will change as
the recruiting process continues. Texas is #27 right now but only has 5 commits.
Auburn is #29 with just 6 recruits. Both will probably be in the top-10 when the dust
settles. I guarantee you Texas A&M will be in the top-10 and probably top-5. It's
still early but teams like Clemson, Alabama and LSU are off to great starts.

The nation's No. 1 rated defensive tackle has committed to Clemson. Bryan Bresee,
6-5, 290 pound 5-star from Maryland choose the Tigers over a host of schools. With
Clemson losing most of its front line, many believe Bresee will play in the rotation as
    a freshman.

Ohio State is continuing its search for 2020 wide receivers. The Buckeyes have verbals
from two of the country's top 2020 wide outs in Gee Scott from the state of Washington
and Jaxon Smith from Texas. There are also high hopes for 5-star wide receiver Julian
Fleming who will announce May 31.

The nation's No. 1 inside linebacker Justin Flowe (California) has Alabama's staff undivided
attention. Last week, defensive coordinator Pete Golding and offensive coordinator Steve
Sarkisian visited with Flowe. It was Bama's second trip out to California during the Evaluation
Period. He's arguably Alabama's top target on the defensive side of the ball in the 2020
class. Flowe has over 40 offers from across the country.

Southern Cal comes in at #55 with only 3 commitments. (Two 4-stars and one 2-star.)
Pitiful for a school like USC with all the talent available within a 3 hour drive of the campus.

Red, I will make a bold, wild, not so crazy prediction. Urban Meyer will be USC's next coach.
Meyer's not through coaching and the Trojans will come begging once they fire Helton. One
year or two years....I believe it will happen.

If I had to bet on where he lands I would probably go with Purdue. His home (Avon,
Indiana) is only an hour from campus and his sister goes to school there. It didn't
work out with Jimmy and Michigan but the kid (6-5, 230) reportedly has a lot of talent.
Purdue likes to throw the ball and that would seem to be a good fit for Peters. He
should announce pretty soon and will have two years of playing eligibility left. Purdue's
QB situation could use an upgrade to compete in the Big Ten conference.

For the second time this offseason, OHIO STATE is adding a quarterback transfer from
the SEC. Jagger LaRoe announced he is leaving Texas A&M to join the Buckeyes. Ohio
State previously added QB Justin Fields from Georgia. Not sure, but I believe LaRoe will
have 3 years of eligibility with his new team.

GEORGIA has now had five consecutive recruiting classes ranked sixth or better by
247Sports, which means the Bulldogs have a load of talent on their depth chart. Just
between the 2018 and 2019 classes, they have signed nine defensive players rated
45 overall or better, including this year's No. 1 overall recruit in this year's class, Nolan
Smith, a 5-Star defensive end. Georgia should be difficult to score on this season,
especially if they can find a pass rush that was absent last year.

These teams already have over 20 recruits for the 2020 recruiting class? The same recruiting class where signing day will be this December and next Feb?

Top 2019 wide receiver recruit Bru McCoy is transferring for the second time in four
months, announcing Friday that he is leaving Texas. McCoy, ESPN's top WR and No.
27 overall player in the 2019 class originally signed with USC in December and en-
rolled in January. He then transferred to Texas where he participated in spring drills.
Now it looks like he's headed back to USC.

Wide receiver Julian Fleming, the No. 4 ranked recruit overall, has committed to Ohio
State. Fleming, the top receiver in the 2020 class, chose the Buckeyes over Alabama,
Clemson, Georgia and Penn State and is the second 5-star to commit to OSU in this
    cycle.

    2020 Recruiting Update (247Sports Composit)

As the summer rolls around, we're going to see the 2020 recruiting cycle really
start to take shape. Coaching staffs across the country have already gotten off
to a fast start putting together their classes for next year. Recruiting powers like
Clemson, Alabama and LSU already have at least 15 recruits each. The Tigers
are building a particularly impressive class. Of their 16 recruits, four are five-stars.
That group includes No. 2 recruit Bryan Bresee, an elite defensive tackle, and the
    country's top quarterback DJ Unagaleler.

    1. Clemson.....2. Alabama.....3. LSU.....4. Georgia.....5. Miami.....6. Notre Dame

    7. Florida.....8. Florida State.....9. Ohio State.....10. North Carolina.....11. Penn State

    12. Georgia Tech.....13. Oregon.....14. Michigan.....15. Oklahoma.....16. Mississippi State

    17. Iowa.....18. South Carolina.....19. Northwestern.....20. Arkansas.....21. Texas A&M
