Really no such thing as off topic here !

I would take this query to a forum that is more focused on medical needs, there probably is a forum just for kidney issues. There is a forum for just about anything you can think of

No doubt about a forum for anything, but how many of those are gamblers..sports gamblers?

I've done a lot of reading which leads to more confusion in some ways...Kidney failure from my consensus reading seems to be a painless death and that's all anyone can ask for..No dialysis for me.

Have you seen a nephrologist, they can probably tell you a lot better than anyone here, I see one twice a year and she says My kidneys should hold out for the rest of my life, I take that to mean I'll have a stroke or something before the kidneys go out on me ?

An old body is like an old car, something will eventually fail that makes it not worth repairing...

She was incredibly fortunate to get a transplant ..I've written the National Kidney Foundation just to ask about this and no response about 3 days ago.

Well first you know he had colon cancer. Than so many problems. Had pnemonia. Wasn't eating the last few months. Was having kidney dialysis the last couple months because his kidneys failed. His body was worn out. Passed away peacefully in bed at home.

In this case there were multiple problems.. I seem to have the others mentioned well under control... But this kidney business is no joke when you're a drinker.. Even if off and on, and yeh I've been down the AA road..not for me.

hypertension and type ii diabetes are the most common causes.

get your shit under control and don't eat anything that lasts longer than a week aka preserved foods in cans

also stop drinking and smoking

daily alcohol use can cause high blood pressure
