That was clearly a hand pass, and it was a pass to a goal in OT ouch to Blues fans.

But the puck-out-of-play was very very early, either team could change the course of the game, lots of time. And it did not add or take away a goal. Sure you could possibly speculate that SJ would have scored on the power play, but not even close, not comparable.

The hand pass ended the game in OT, no chance for the Blues to recover. HUGE. Similar to the Saints pass interference call, but wait, the Saints got screwed but they had a chance to win the game in regulation, then OT.

Most analysts say The Blues outplayed the Sharks overall.

  1. Hand pass.
  2. Right in front of the net.
  3. 4 refs missed it.
  4. GAME OVER.

(hilarious: Meier got an assist on the play!!!)

The thing that made this worse in my eyes than the Vegas one, which I thought was a penalty but not a major, was that in in the Vegas game it didn't steal Vegas' chance to win the game.

My daughter (a big hockey fan) tells me those officials will not be used again in any game
for the remainder of the Cup. Said she read it on ESPN and HockeyNews but I'll be damned if
I can find the articles.

That great but it doesn't do anything for the Integrity of the game. You'll never convince me
that all four of the officials weren't looking at that play. It stinks.

I don’t disagree with what your saying, but I thought the Blues scored a goal right after the missed delay penalty. I would have to think there is a pretty high probability they don’t score that goal if they are short handed, but I may be misremembering the timing of that. I like St. Louis to take the next three and advance, unless the refs go out of their way to help the Sharks yet again.

Either way, the officiating this playoffs has been atrocious. The Vegas mess was unreal and stole that series from the Knights, the Sharks got some iffy calls in big spots against the Avs as well. The Bruins have been playing great and deserve to be here, but there were a couple games versus the Jackets were the officiating appeared very one-sided. Seems just about every series that was remotely competitive featured very inconsistent officiating.
