I Have a GREAT IDEA for the RX (that most certainly wont be implimented)

I ate dinner last night at 1 of my favorite restaurants in phoenix,, and they changed their menu,, lol well,, they cut their menu down in half,, its now just a 14 inch by 14 inch,,, Im a bit frustrated by it,, but hey,, its cleaner.

my point is this,, the RX should consider DELETING zones NOT ADD THEM,, If we were to DELEtE ROOMS,,, it would force more EYEs,,, and more TRAFFIC to the rooms we do have THUS creating a FRESHER FEEL.

so I made a list of rooms IN ORDER OF DELETE WORTHYNESS,,

1. Industry talk - there is only 7,000 posts here,, do we really need this forum? this one specifically should be deleted,, no need,, and will most certainly FOCUS EYES on the forums that matter, and create Dialogue in the OFFSHORE.

2. Casino - sigh,,, really? 250 posts? the reason this is my #2 and not #1 is because it does make senese to have a casino room,, but OBVIOUSLY with 250 posts,,, It Doesnt,,

3. Comments on the RX - 12,000 posts? JUST as IM CREATING THIS THREAD,,, commenting on the RX,,, Kindof no need,, im here in Offshore,, Im commenting in offshore,, everyone comments accordingly in each room accordingly,,

4. community contests - 18,000 posts,, Ok, lets be honest,, this can be solved with a STICKY at the top of each Board per sport per contest. Its 1 of the Rooms that we dont need, but I can see it being a fringe Room that may be needed. If anyone has any problems they can post em in the OFFSHORE,, More eyes,,, More Traffic?? more interest gained on contests.

Im NOT bagging on NASCAR room as it does have its CULT following, or fantasy room,, as thats a Growing market,

But the truth is ,,, if we delete a few Erroneous rooms,, we will create a TIGHTER more interesting RX

Restaurants can do that. They see "non popular items on the menu" and figure they can cut it as its not that popular and the restaurant doesnt have to buy the ingredients.

I think more rooms are better as long as this thread is first.

I dont read the nascar room but those people who want to talk nascar dont want to come into this thread reading about school shootings not being real, Trump/Obama is the best/worst president ever, or Which actor played "Bobby" the best on Mad men.

Think about this page as 1 of your salons and not a restaurant.

Maybe a full shave or an eyebrow wax isnt as popular, but you are still going to offer it

it has nothing to do with more or less Sub forums
right now there's baseball, hockey and NBA active and besides the Service forum, those are the most active

Industry Talk and the Contest forums are newer so not as many posts

the Costa Rica forum used to be a big hit because there would be a ton of Offshore workers that stopped by, but people change

the NASCAR forum has been there for years, and normally at other places it would be jumping as many know there's a huge fanbase there, but we only have 7k+ posts

as far as the offshore forum like I said yesterday, talk about girls or something Bad, you will get the responses

I also thought about a US Sportsbook based sub forum, but then you take away a subject here in offshore

The COMMUNITY CONTESTS are an integral part of what theRX is all about.

We (RX) are very fortunate to have someone like JOH to monitor individual contest. He's damn
good at it and is trusted. The monthly baseball contest is going great and has a good following of
posters looking for picks.

Contest are essential for a betting forum. Can't wait until the CFB and NFL Contest are available.

Not a bad idea but what we really need is more posters. With the legalization of sports betting you would think there would be more people here. If you look at the Classic threads from the past sub forum the traffic was heavier and the quality of posts was way better.

I suppose bickering and arguing among posters has pushed a lot of people elsewhere

You are soooo right... But a friendly poster Rep. from a book that WANTS to solve problems, would be a HOME RUN... Easy to understand why this doesn't happen.

The Rx is about to get a lot new posters as legal sports gambling slowly rolls out across the country. People will lose alot of $$ first assuming it is so easy to beat and then as they reaearch it more, they will find this place...

It would be wise to try the US Sportsbook subforum now that more states are legalizing.

I'm not following why it's such a big deal to you to force a higher concentration of posters into less forums instead of being dispersed into more specific ones that they're interested in? What's so "fresh" about that? If people want to talk about Nascar, what's wrong with letting them talk about that in a forum designed for that? Would it be better for those posters to seek out a racing forum elsewhere after the one here is removed?

Great question! However I Support keeping NASCAR ..

The big point is the Rooms that should be deleted are rooms that Are Not Used.. and those specific topics will create more livelier threads and Push more threads in Front of More EYES... Thus creating a more livelier Forum

Those rooms are used (just by a small amount of people). If you're not interested in it, you're not going to talk about it regardless of where it is. And if I am interested in it, I'm guessing the few posters that go to that room are probably going to be a lot more knowledgeable than those that don't seek it out (and I'd rather be talking to that crowd than waste time with people of casual interest that don't really know what they're talking about...at least not at the detailed level of those into the sport). Personally, I'd rather not wade through some of the stuff on this forum.

Those rooms are used (just by a small amount of people). If you're not interested in it, you're not going to talk about it regardless of where it is. Im NOT argueing against specialized rooms.... IM SUGGESTING, that we tighten up the RX.. and if you look at the rooms i suggest we delete?? Which you dont mention, (just like king didnt mention)... those rooms are relatively Generic, and the Offshore EASILY could Absorb them, and the chatter would bump up in there...
Sooo my point.. examine rooms i suggest we delete... they are a TAD bit redundant...
