As a long time horse player, this year I have absolutely no interest in the Preakness Stakes. After the way the stewards handled the situation in the Kentucky Derby and then suspended the jockey, it's all hog wash.

Even if Country House was running, how excited could you get about a potential Triple Crown when the horse didn't even win his last race on the track.

Instead of taking steps forward, racing has taken strides backwards. It's just not about the KY Derby, add in the Santa Anita issue, the higher take outs and just the overall greed.

For those watching and wagering good luck.

Totally agree. The top horses should have had rematch at pimlico and settled it on the track.

It's gambling everyone will be watching and betting. Life goes on. Derby is history. Forgotten. Are you going to let it affect you the rest of your life?

plus the owners on Pimlico are not letting major horse racing ADW customers wager on the Preakness in a power play move. forcing you to have accounts in only a couple places. sad sad sad

betting off shore only this Preakness
and some off some head to head matchups

I'm a horse handicapper. The challenge to bet the race and show a profit, maybe sizeable, remains.

It is however a sin that horse racing is not cheering for a Triple Crown winner. The storyline is enormous. Maximum Security's maiden race was a 16,000.00 claimer. Other owners and trainers could have dropped the pill and had the horse for a lousy 16 grand. He was clearly the best horse in the Derby. He had never lost going into the Derby. He would be the favorite to win again in the Preakness. This could have been a dream story for horse racing, the kind of stuff the casual fan loves.

But the win was stolen from him because of awful stewardship. It took them 21 minutes to disqualify the wrong horse, a horse they never even flashed the "inquiry" sign for. Never before in 145 years of Derbies has a horse been disqualified. Barring something really, really crazy happening, no horse should have been disqualified. That's the precedent. Precedent counts A LOT. The stewards then sat Luis Saez for 15 days when the standard suspension is for 3 days. Covering their sad asses following through with the charade. Oh by the way, the jockey who claimed the objection was not even impeded. And the jockey / horse who was supposedly wronged not only did not lodge an objection, but the stewards never even talked to him to get his perspective.

The #1 and the #20, the horse who was put up, both caused problems near the end of the turn. BOTH. Maximum Security was fouled. The Wests (owners of Maximum Security) will prove this in court.

Gary Stevens (Hall of Fame jockey), Bob Baffert (Hall of Fame trainer), and Andy Beyer one of the most renowned handicappers ever, all felt that Maximum Security should have never come down.

Sorry, I'm still pissed.

But I'll enjoy the Preakness anyway because it's a great betting opportunity. The payoffs bloat when they are saturated with public money. Good luck to those who will enjoy it with me.

It will feel different, but yeah I'm hooked for a few dollars.. and will enjoy handicapping the race, even though it won't feel as dramatic

Well we should probably cancel the race.:):):):):):)Jesus get a fckng grip already. There will be some terrific betting opportunities Saturday. If they had left MS up you ALL would have said what a terrific race CH ran and you know it. Move on already and stop the whining it’s exhausting.

I'm out, couldn't care less, not sure why people doubt that a large part of the country has been turned off

No interest even though I usually bet this race every year.

And I didn't care about the controversy in the Derby.

I chuckled at your absurd reply no one is whining here. Countless posts support my position as they feel the same. The only non agreed replies pretty much are cookie cutter. It's like you hear a talking point and repeat it with the same people in your level of thinking. Sounds familiar to constitutional crisis. It doesn't exist nor does the whining.

If you are so exhausted about people that don't show interest in the race tomorrow, why bother to reply? It can't be that exhausting after all. You weren't too tired to reply.

I stated I had no interest in the Preakness Stakes, no where does it say I wasn't interested in other races. I'll be dialed into a lot of good races tomorrow. Some great races around the country, which many won't pay much attention to since they will be focused on Pimlico. I'll be focused elsewhere and could care a less about the Preakness Stakes.

Enjoy
