2nd place - Just beaten at the wire - paid $8.40 $5.80

Race 2 - #3 WHIRLIN CURLIN (10-1) - always shows interest, fits class-wise, will he take to the grass?

ran out - settled in behind traffic and never challenged

Race 3 - #5 TONE BROKE (9-2) Everyone to the inside of this guy wants the lead. A good, patient ride steals this.

2nd place - beaten by the 2/5 shot, exacta paid $11.40

Race 4 - #4 GLITTERING JUDY (10-1) 3 for 8 at the distance and will likely be ignored at the window.

ran out - Judy, Judy, Judy. Slammed at the break, cut off when trying to recover. Yuck.

Race 5 - #4 ENGLISH BEE (5-1) Exits a key race in Tampa where he had all kinds of trouble. Jose climbing aboard doesn't hurt.

1st place - The rider was the difference, great stretch battle. Paid $11.40 $4.80 $3.60 - really nice $40 exacta if you liked the 5.

Race 6 - #7 PRO FORMA (3-1) He loves sprinting on dirt and if he gets the speed to run into I expect to see him beat Lewisfield in a photo.

2nd place - helluva ride by Santana, we just weren't good enough today. Paid $4.20 $2.60 and a pretty generous $26.80 exacta with a 2-1 shot on top.

Race 7 - #7 LAYLA NOOR (15-1) The odd-on favorite, Ikymasho, has won one race in the last two years - I'll try to beat her.

ran out - gave me a thrill for a mile or so but you can't cash thrills...

Race 8 - #4 BOZZINI (10-1) Hoping the outside runner tries to prompt a speed duel. Loving the route to sprint angle here.

ran out - Chalk, chalk, I hate chalk. I think the 4 was carrying a piano on his back.

Race 9 - #3 EYE ON BERLIN (10-1) In keeping with today's theme of posting double digit odds, I really do like this girl. Sure, she's a little cheap to try these but she has won her last two tries on firm turf and you gotta love that run off the freshening. As I post, she's 19-1. Jeezus why not?

ran out - damn 4 horse cut her off at the top of the stretch. She was placed perfectly, checked badly, and still finished 4th. Going on my watch list.

Race 10 - #3 THEWAYJAM (10-1) I think Motion used that Florida race as a glorified training run and she should be ready to fire here.

2nd place - nice run, couldn't catch the favorite. Paid $5.80 $4.00 and a very nice $47.00 exacta if you put her with the chalk.

Race 11 - #7 PYRON (7-2) I was hoping for 4-1 or better on him thinking the 8 would get pounded, but looks like that's not gonna happen. At 2-1 there's just no value. I'll be looking closely at #4 Admiral Lynch (10-1) here as well.

ran out - nice 3rd place finish for Admiral Lynch, though paying $6.20

Race 12 - #3 ADMISSION OFFICE (12-1) Love this guy. I cashed big with him at Keeneland last month and although he would need to run the race of his life to win this, I believe he'll step forward off that race and at the least be in the exotics.

2nd place - beaten by the favorite again but pays $5.00 $3.80 and a modest $25.00 exacta with the 7-5 favorite.

Race 13 - #1 WAR OF WILL (4-1) I've been all over the place on this race - Owendale, Laughing Fox, Anothertwistafate. Those three will certainly be included in my exotics, but ultimately I settled on WOW. He had the dreaded rail post in the Derby and seemingly overcame it before he found trouble later in the race. Was doing nothing wrong leading up to La Derby where he threw out a clunker but if you can forgive that as an aberration, then he has to be considered here. Anyway, he'll be on all my tickets.

Given how my day has gone at Pimlico, you're crazy not to put a couple of bucks on War of Will to place. I've posted 12 picks and had the 2nd place runner it 5 of them.

Winner - $14.20 $7.40 $5.40 The 10 horse screwed me on every exotic ticket, but the straight bet made up for it.

Hope everyone had a great day!
