Is quitting the new thing in sports outside of the NBA?

I mean, the NBA is a joke.... so who cares?

But what is going on in sports? Tennis players ..... ? Are they copying the NBA?

And Kevin Lee tonight... the guy won a quitting trophy tonight. Zero heart and literally just lay down and quit. I watched some of his media before the fight and I could sense he was not in this fight at all mentally. He gave it the old show up and do an energy burst.... and then lay down and quit later on.

Millennials lol?

But seriously, everything is changing in sports and I do think less heart overall with players than in the past.

Simple. Way too much $$ in sports these days.

I dont see how some of it is sustainable.

Look at MLB. A reliever that maybe 10% of the board has heard of is will be making 10 million a year yet there are 15 MLB baseball game 5 out of 7 days and alot of those games. These parks are less than 40% full and fuck the TV money. No one watches an entire game of baseball. By far the most boring sport to watch on TV

Honestly. Most tennis players are serious pussies. I grew up when I was younger playing tennis. It was my first sport. I saw kids cry somewhat often if they fell down and skinned their knee.

Thats why these guys withdrawl too for essentially anything. It's funny. I love hearing the 2 words in tennis "he's fit". Really?? The points are often 1-3 shots with a 30-45 second break in between points. And every 2 games there is a 3-5 minute sit down period. Not exactly a sport where one is constantly running.

You can actually make cogent points when you want without the pejorative bigotry you embrace. Maybe you took your meds?

Too much money. Growing up we idolize certain athletes and in the naivety of youth we believe these athletes are playing for the love of the game. When they are really playing because it's their path to making the most money as possible and being able to provide for themselves and others in a way in which they never would be otherwise. Media coverage wasn't what it is now 20 or 30 years ago and the athletes weren't given the voice they are now with all platforms that are now available. Anyone can post an opinion on twitter or other social media. In addition HD tv, instant replays, the ability to access highlights at anytime we are able to scrutinize every and any play. Not to mention the dumbed down narratives that they media has created with saying this person quit or that person choked has become a part of modern sports.
