    Long admired as the most eco-conscious nation in the Americas, Costa Rica upped the sustainable tourism ante last week when it announced aims to achieve zero emissions by 2050.
    At 38, President Carlos Alvarado is one of the world’s youngest heads of state. During his inauguration speech in 2018, he pledged to decarbonise and embraced the “titanic and beautiful task” of abolishing fossil fuels.
    “Decarbonisation is the great task of our generation, and Costa Rica must be among the first countries in the world to achieve it, if not the first,” he said.

    There are currently massive changes going on in costa rica. One of them the introduction of VAT ( IVA) https://www.it-ico.com/the-heavy-imp...in-costa-rica/ and the introduction of a whole new tax system. Let's all hope this all will advance costa rica in a great way and also create sustainable tourism by renovating the public transport.

    There are many movements like this in the whole world, not only in Costa Rica. Let's hope for the planet that everything will go into a more sustainable en ecological future. I live in Costa Rica and see shops like this coming up https://tesorotico.com , which does give me a little bit of hope for humanity.

    ticos also litter for sports so their green image doesn't coincide with the basic concept of not littering, which is so extremely common its ridiculous
