Im going to buy a Honda Godldwing for certain,, I want to use it for 4 hour runs?? to laughlin NV. and Flagstaff, probably San Diego too?

Ive been browsing through craigslist, and Offer up,, my only thought is not really understanding the value of a 1200 or a 1500,, my wife will be with me mostly,, does it REALLY matter that much?

the 1200 versus 1500? with 2 people? seems trivial>?

any thoughts guys?

Make sure your hospital insurance is up-to-date.

Good chance you will need it...sooner or later.

It won't make any difference, 1,000 CC's is a huge bike easily capable of carrying two heavy people. My best friend rode a 650 cc Yamaha ( without a fairing)from Connecticut to San Diego with no problem whatsoever, that's probably all you really need.

If this is your first be motorcycle ever and you have no experience, don't start with a 1200 cc monster bike, something more like a 350 cc is appropriate.

It is also very dangerous ! You can be the best driver in the world but some addle-brained idiot in a car just won't see you and cut your ass off, she might get a dented fender, you get a dented leg or worse !

I'm done with bikes

I grew up riding motorcycles. I had my dL fo a motorcycle at age 14 and rode to school. Had dirt bikes. Everything.
that was different times. No way in hell I let my son ride one today . No chance I’d take a road trip on one. All the idiots, traffic, texting. It’s certain death. Just a completely different dynamic now days

ive owned 2 previous bikes.. both sport bikes.. i havent ridden in 20 years...
Ty everyone for the kind thoughts. My plan was to ride only highway.. nothing in the city, as that's were the majority of terrible accidents happen..

1. Day time riding only..
2. Highway riding only..

Those 2 rules alone keep me 99% safer than most.

Thank you Doug i was pretty dam sure 1200 would be a magic carpet ride.. im 240 6,2 my wife is probably 140 5,5?? So were pretty normal sized? 50 year olds.. lol
