I jotted these down for my edification, and realized that some of you might be interested. These are my notes for Thursday.

Any listed odds are as of 1AM EDT.

Pirates @ Braves 12:10PM: ATL -145 9
Atlanta is strong and has won 6 straight, and now #1 in NL East. Pittsburgh will want to avoid sweep, but Atlanta will want to hold onto top position. Past two nights have gone late (weather / extra innings). ATL pitcher Teheran has been very good this season. Play Atlanta; consider the under in parlay. Score will likely be close, so wouldn’t risk the -1.5 play, even at +127.

Mariners vs Twins 1:10PM: MIN -170, 10.5
Twins is the stronger play, but the odds are ugly. Maybe consider -1.5 (-103), given that Kikuchi has been giving up an increasing # of runs / game. Last engagement of Pineda with Twins was 5/16, result Win 11-6 (3 runs surrendered).

Check oppo team runs for Seattle vs Twins. Consider Minn Twins Team over of up to 4 (4.5 is dicey, but maybe).

Jays vs Orioles 7pm: TOR -145, 9
Two of the worst teams playing with two pedestrian pitchers with losing records. What to do?
Orioles are a sad bunch. Jay’s Stroman runs hot and cold. Staying away.

D-Backs vs Nats 7pm: ARI -115, 8.5
The opposite – two strong pitchers, though Fedde has only been a starter since 5/21. I’d pick experience here and go with D-Backs, especially with their (slightly) stronger hitting; maybe just that with the Atlanta under Parlay.

Angels @ Rays 7:10pm (no odds yet)
Just looking at pitching, maybe the over here, although my luck with Overs has admittedly been horrible. Will review tomorrow.

Cards @ Mets 7:10pm: MYM -132, 7.5
I hate the Cards; I have wanted to like them, but they let me down ALL THE TIME. I chased them through that 4 game losing streak back in early May and almost quit my book. THAT SAID, I’m going to pick the Mets, given that their bats have been pretty good over the past few games, deGrom’s last few games have been respectable, and, well, I hate the Cards.

Yankees @ White Sox 8:10pm: NYY -169 9.5
It’s Happ, and the Yankee bats are some of the best this season, and no notable injuries. CWS’s Nova is gonna get burned. Yankees on both reg play and -1.5.

Cubs @ Dodgers 10:10pm: LAD -185 8
I love Kershaw, but the Dodger bats just aren’t keeping up, especially with the Seager injury. Running the under here. The bold may consider the +173, but I wouldn’t bet against my boy.

Plays to date:
ATL -145 (2 units)
MIN -1.5 (1 unit)
NYM -132 (1 unit)
NYY -169 (1.5 unit)
NYY -1.5 -113 (1 unit)
LAD Under 8 (-118) (1.5 unit)

May have additional plays later as my book posts them.

Team total for Twins is 5.5 - too high for me.

Adding:

Angels / Rays Over 9 (-113) (1 unit)

All the lines - except the Yankees - moved away from me overnight, which is annoying. I'm hoping it's just book corrections, and not public reflection.

At this point, thanks to the Yankees implosion and the Dodgers blowing the under, it's essentially a push of a day, which sucks.

The Mets game was rained out at the bottom of the 9th, and my book hasn't flagged it yet as a Win (if they score it through the 8th inning), a Push (they typically cancel baseball plays that don't make it through 9 innings in a night), or will wait until the play continues tomorrow evening (tie score, but good chance Mets could close it out with a win). Which give me a barely up day.

But because of my heavy lean on the Yankees - blech. Nova did pitch surprisingly well tonight.

Next time!
