The Democrats nominating Biden in 2020 will be like Republicans nominating Romney in 2012

The old guard, a familiar name, it's his turn, the "safe pick" yada yada yada

And just like Mitt, Joe goes down in flames

Hillary was a better candidate than Joe will be

Of course my favorite candidate would be Pocahontas. She spews so much garbage it would be a bloodbath

I love how she now has a solution for the student loan crisis the democrats created, you just can't make this shit up

We're more than a year out, who knows who will get the nod. I'm rooting for the guy that
polled 0 in Iowa. If de Blasio would get it then Trump would win NY since the latest polls
show he's more popular in NY than the Mayor.

I sight the poll because I'm trying to pass the liberal logic test 101.

Biden will not be the nominee, no way. It is the first inning.

The machine will get behind an AA, or a woman, or somebody that is both, when the timing is right, and the media will support the chosen one 24/7.

As a conservative, I wish Biden would be the nominee... IMO he is one of the easiest to beat, maybe Bernie would be easier.

Romney only had four years as an elected politician and that was outside Washington. Most obvious comparisons are Gore and Bush I. But also much more similar to McCain, Kerry, Dole, than Romney. The field is still a heavy favorite over Joe B.

I bet Bernie at +435....Maybe it doesn't get there but the discontent/disruption/not status quo/not establishment candidate is where the value is.

And his fundraising/name recognition is much improved from a year ago. People may not like his solutions but he says shit that actual Americans care about rather than empty platitudes from Biden types such "We gotta get back our standing in the world and repair relationships with foreign allies", etc....That era is just over.

Jeb/Biden is a better analogy than Biden/Romney to me. Well, atleast enough of a chance to be that I think +435 is value.

Agree. That is a great bet.

My money also says that Bernie is the Democrat nominee. He has tremendous youth support. They energize the campaign. And I completely agree that he presents easy to understand policy differences from Trump. Truth is if Hillary wasn't in cahoots with the DNC in 2016 Bernie would have been the Dem candidate. Amongst other things, Trump has made Joe Public aware of the swamp. Although Bernie has been in Congress since 1991 no one considers him swampy. He originally shone the light on socialism. He is the King Communist of the group. The rest are pretenders. And he has a lot of support.

Its a lost cause for them in 2020.. They're better off grooming someone that halfway resonates with people for 2024....because this year , it will be a bloodbath..

Fun thread title since it's about 50/50 the GOP opponent to Dem's 2020 candidate will be Mitt Romney

Joe doesn’t even believe he’s got a real shot. Look at his body language and lack of enthusiasm. The guy doesn’t give a fuck.

I read the stories about how Biden is up over Trump by 10% and then I look at the odds and it is a Pickem. Biden would be an absolute disaster as President.

I think it's safe to say that polls are becoming increasingly meaningless

Ya, stays on message. Focuses on class rather than race, crony capitalism and how elites are pillaging. Doesn't talk about reparations or what bathrooms people can use, etc..

It is a powerful message at a time where voters of all stripes are running towards disruption. Maybe someone else tries to co-opt a lot of his message but it is going to be difficult.

If he didn't brand himself as a socialist then he would have a better chance. I mean they're all pretty socialist, he's just the only one dumb enough to actually put the letter next to his name.
