wow three 1st rounders + the players? They were gonna get him in 12 months.. suprising.. I would moved the 3 players and this years 4th pick, but not the two additional first rounders.

Usually a trade for a superstar doesn't work out for the team trading the top player. In this case, the LAL were so desperate, they got raped. The only positive for them is they got rid of Lonzo and his psycho family. Let's see how AD performs with a bit of pressure. I don't think the west which is full of fast, versatile backcourts will be very afraid of LeBron lumbering down the floor to throw it into the post to Davis. Besides that, the LAL mortgaged the future as what chance to they have to add a young player every year? I think NO should trade the #4 pick for a package including Jimmy Butler. Maybe they can get Cousins to come back??

No doubt thinking this is the only year they have a shot at doing anything. Might as well mortgage the future

Whats NO salary cap look like now? Their roster is looking great w/ Zion and moving the #4 pick for a stud.. wow, nicely done New Orleans.

Wonder if they had to top the C's offer? Maybe the Pelicans had the leverage

I think LA gave up too much. They must be thinking this will attract Kyrie, and I'm OK with that :)

This actually reminds me of when ARod/Boras had him opt out of his deal the morning after the Red Sox beat the Rockies to win the world series in '07. I actually told a few friends I didn't see a deal until Wed/Thurs because Silver would tell NO to wait until the next news cycle.

Pels got a great deal though in terms of pure value. Guy was gone in a year. That's the most anyone has fetched for a guy that is leaving in a year anyway.
I'm higher on Lonzo and Ingram than most (although consensus opinion ITT seems to like them) Think both those guys got a lot of potential and getting out of the big market/win now situation will help them grow. Just gotta stay healthy.

Lakers still got a great deal though. Have cap room to make more moves now as well so we'll see how their roster ends up.

I'd call it a win-win trade which usually isn't the case for elite players on their way out. Usually just ends up the team that gets the elite guy wins and the other gets pennies on the dollar.

They just watched KD and Klay....two pretty durable players get hurt badly. And then they trade their whole future for one player. He’s 26 though and this move most likely puts them in the finals next year.

Pelicans should keep dealing. See what the market is for Ingram.

Lonzo and Zion may be electric

A lot of "mortgaged the future" talk. Don't think you can say LAL mortgaged their future because they can just get FA's in a post-Bron world and AD is only 26.

The best players have been wanting to play there since the beginning of time. So it is a lot easier for them to turn 4 quarters into a dollar than most teams obviously. Because you can replace those quarters with FA's easier.

If a team that wasn't the Lakers made this move then mortgaging the future and going "all-in" would be more apt.

All of those guys could pan out somewhere else. It was their future. But with Lebron the future is now...always. Plus a #4 pick like Culver,Deandre hunter could be good players. Those other first rounders don’t make much a difference though because one of those is going to be pick #30 next year anyway
