A baseball game between a group of 7-year-old kids degenerated into an all-out brawl with parents throwing haymakers, other cowering for cover and a woman even jumping on someone's back.
The reason for the brawl: a parent didn't like the calls being made by a 13-year-old umpire.

These adults took over the field and began assaulting each other on 6/15 during a youth baseball game. We're looking for any info, in particular to ID the man in the white shirt/teal shorts. Several people have already been cited in this fight and injuries were reported.

Police issued four citations for disorderly conduct, but said they are still searching for others involved in the fight.
Police are looking for an adult in a white T-shirt and teal shorts in particular because he can be seen in the video throwing sucker punches at people looking in the other direction. Police said it is unknown if this person is a parent of one of the children in the game.

My 2 oldest sons play select baseball and it's crazy how bad the coaches and parents are. My 12 year old was in a tournament 3 weeks ago, the coach of the other team got thrown out in the 5th inning. How embarrassing he had to go sit in the parking lot and miss the end of the game and what kind of message is that sending your kids. I'm as competitive as anyone but it's still 12 year old baseball.

My kids do basketball football, track and baseball. Not even close how baseball brings the worst out of everyone.

I was at a little league game over 20 years ago and saw a fist fight among parents
kid dropped a ball in the outfield and another parent made a comment about it, the kids father punched him in the head and a fight broke out

If everyone involved got a mandatory 100 days in jail this would happen once in a generation

Yeah threat of jail time works so well to deter drug dealers, rapist, pedophiles, and illegal immigration. Surely it will work with assclown modern parents

I used to Umpire youth baseball years ago and seen this plenty of times and tossed coaches and parents and had to call the cops a few times to restore order. The parents think there kid is a superstar and really there not or just not yet.

I’ll see bad calls made almost every little league game and have phone video evidence to prove it many of these incidences. First few times seeing this I would voice out something like “Aww C’mon!” but there are these signs posted around about parental etiquette rules and I just came to the conclusion that bad calls are just a part of little league games and teams just have to play through it.

Tough guy third base coach for young kids team (I think 11 yo), whenever his kids got to third, they would take a long lead and get into a hot box with the 3rd basemen and catcher. At that age it can usually be successful, sure. And the catcher was not nimble enough to deal with it.
SO he kept it up.
Every time.
So the team on field started to just have the pitcher walk to the runner, ball held high, to get him back to the base, this went on and on.
Game had a time limit, so kids did not get at bats, it took forever.
Someone yelled at the third base coach "come on, this is not baseball! the kids need to learn to hit and field and throw"!
He walked towards the stands and yelled "don't tell me how to run my baseball team" and threatened the guy.
Fortunately a very large guy stood in between the two and nothing materialized.
The game finally ended, some kids only got 1 or 2 at bats in a time frame they always would get at least 3...

I've seen some very bad coaching in youth sports over the years, especially baseball which I was heavily involved in for many years.

One coach would be winning 17-0 and still stealing bases, something I'll never understand

Another coach was way too hands on with his players, actually taking the fun out of the game for the kids and literally making them worse. If he didn't think you could hit, he would make you take at least one strike, often times two strikes taking the bat out of the kids hands. Or he'd make you take a strike and then bunt. He'd even have kids bunting guys from 2nd base to 3rd base with one out. I would watch this guy and think "this dude as no idea what he's doing or what he's supposed to be doing and he doesn't know baseball 101".

It's about teaching kids the game, teaching sportsmanship and letting the kids have fun. There were no primadonnas on my team, and we still played to win every game because that's what competition is all about

I was Commissioner of the local league for 4 years. Parents would complain to me a lot, say stuff like "my son is just as good as a coach's son and the only reason the coach's son made the all star team is because he's a coach." I'm like, "all things being equal, that's how the world goes around". If a kid is a superstar, he's making the all star team. But if he's not, then having his parents involved in the league helps.

That's life, somewhat surprising so many people don't understand this stuff.

So this fight happened regarding a kid batting out of order.

Craziness.

I want to say that there was a 110% chance that AT LEAST 1 of the coaches on those teams is a MAJOR D-bag

Not parents fighting but I just got back last night from a large 4 day 12 year old baseball tournament with my son. We were waiting to play next and the parents, coaches and players were all complaining about the balls/strikes the whole game. Close game but in the 5th the team batting won after getting up by 8 runs (after 4 innings, if you are up by 8 the game is over).

The pitcher for the losing team threw his glove as the ump after the go ahead run scored. Not a fight but still my kid would be heading home and done for the season if he ever did that.
