My mom passed in 2013 from ovarian cancer, she was 82 and worked out 3 or 4 times per week.

To this day I say "she was my biggest fan". She started with absolutely nothing and set the table for us. She lived in a small town outside of Naples for 28 years, where she learned to be the most amazing cook any of us ever knew. She used to train the chefs that worked in my uncle's 5 star gourmet Italian restaurant, which doubled as a mob joint

Great story, I'm sure she was an awesome lady, and left behind what sounds like a great legacy.

My dad is the same way, as far as being my biggest fan. He would swear with a straight face I will be the next Bill Gates, Jerry Garcia, Bobby Flay...whatever I want to be. He is almost 70 and suffers from Parkinson's. Scheduled for deep brain surgery later this month.

My mom is in her mid 60s and the healthiest person I know. Barring a plane crash or cancer we joke that she will live to be 120.

Sounds like a great woman. No doubt she would've been a firm believer in Leviticus 18:21.

There's no love like a parent's love, when you have kids of your own you really get to appreciate that

Happy 4th my friend, your dad sounds like a good man.
