Nigeria also finished the group on the second place as they gained six points due to the victories against Burundi and Guinea and the loss to Madagascar. There were also some of the successful results in the play-offs they outplayed Cameroon and South Africa as . Yet, in the semifinal of the competition they lost to Algeria.
