Oakland at Seattle: Oakland-135....

Seattle throws out Marco Gonzales to oppose Oakland’s Chris Bassitt. Bassitt was decent in his last outing where he went 5.2 innings versus the Angels, giving up 1 home run and 2 earned runs, while he struck out 7 and walked 1. The 30-year-old is 5-3 with a 3.80 ERA in 13 starts this year, tying a career-high before the start of July. Gonzales was decent in his last outing versus a potent Houston lineup where he went 5 innings, giving up 3 earned runs, while he struck out 5 and walked 3. The 30-year-old has surrendered three earned runs or less in each of his last five outings after giving up a whopping 18 runs (16 earned) in a two-start span to start the month of June. He comes in with a 9-7 record to go along with a 4.30 ERA in 19 starts. Bassitt has been on a nice tear lately, while Gonzales is about to face an Oakland lineup that thrives off lefties. According to Baseball Savant, the current Mariners’ roster is batting just .250 in 43 plate appearances off of Bassitt heading into Saturday’s matchup.
