Well not a new fish, but relatively new to the US as a foodfish from what I can tell

I never heard of it before looking at the supermarket fliers today

I'll give it a try at $3.99/ lb

catch it all the time off the coast here in nc
pretty decent to eat but a fun fish to catch
firmer white fish so it holds pretty well on the grill
people do farm raise it but have only had it out of the atlantic

I will try it, love seafood and this is New England, I'd like to get some fresh Bluefish to, hard to find even here, very seasonal and not something available often or away from here.

My favorite seafood is those Alaskin jumbo king crab legs ( like $25/ lb)

Tonight's dinner is shaping up to be

Cobia probably grilled
Mussels
Corn on the cob
Something like a few strawberries, blueberries, grapes, etc
Wash it down with some Grolsch lager
Unfortunately the fish is farm raised and frozen, but I'll have to settle for that

Bluefish is very oily. I catch them all the time . Much better smoked . They chase all the bait fish usually show up in April May before stripped bass.i love cod and black fish .

Sounds similar to a sea bass, which I do enjoy

Favorite fish, in no particular order

sea bass (several varieties)
halibut
haddock
cod
sole
red snapper
mahi mahi

One fish I hate, Blue Fish, damn Doug :). And coming from CT, I think there's an abundance of blue fish. So much so, I wish I could eat the darn things

Not a fan of one very popular fish, don't like salmon

I recall not really liking Blue Fish from many years ago. But where do you buy Sea Bass? The only place I've found it locally was in Wegman's (Very Expensive)

favorites are rockfish (striped bass), tuna, Mahi, grouper and flounder.
bluefish is way to oily for me but i know people who love it. supposedly you gotta let the fish bleed out to help with the taste. people i know just rip out the throat and let it bleed out in a bucket of water when they catch it. that always seemed too much for me and just tossed em back since i didnt like em that much.

hope the dinner was good doug, let us know what you thought of the fish.

I’ve never had grouper but heard it’s a killer sandwich . Went to key west years ago and ate a ton of stone crab but completely forgot about grouper
