I love this man, the maker of men

I love him more so than Tom Brady & Bill Bilichick :)

His video starts at about 1 minute

getting in kids faces

calling time out 10 seconds into the game and yanking Caron Butler because he didn't hustle on the opening tip

getting t'd up

At one game we missed a free throw some 20 seconds in against a cupcake opponent and he looks at the bench and screams "can't anyone make a fucking free throw" in a quite gym and his loud booming voice resonated throughout the building

Some people hated all that shit, I'm like "go get them Jimmy". I knew he was making men

Did you know? The first time the Yankees asked him to throw out the first pitch he said "no", because he's a Red Sox fan

First time i had ever heard of UCONN was during March Madness when Chris Smith threw the home run pass to win at the buzzer (1990 maybe?)

Was that the year that UCONN was put on the map or were they good in past years? Any stud NBA players that went there in the 70's or 80's? (i'm asking, not trying to be a dick)

We were a regional program before then, a couple of NBA players like Toby Kimball.

We became a basketball factory with the arrival of Jim Calhoun, hence my man crush

The game you're talking about was the 1990 S 16, Scott Burrell threw a full court pass to Tate George who sank a 17 foot turnaround jumper at the buzzer

Payback came two days later, when Christian Laettner hit a shot at the buzzer to eliminate us in the E 8 game. 89/90 is known as our "dream season", the first year we were on the national stage

Did you go to UCONN. Willie?

No, but I've been a fan since 1968, and a booster / season ticket holder since 1989

Before 1989, probably attended 5 / 6 games per year since 1976
