Interesting stats. I looked at these teams from just last year alone and they together averaged at 58% going 36-26-2 ATS on the road. (if my math was right)
The top 5 teams in your list went 18-11 for a 62% road ATS percentage.
Fitzgerald has a nice sample size, 143 games!

WAIT A MINUTE. Looking at ATS in Steele's mag I see Utah State going 2-4 ATS on the road in 2015. Did not cover on the road vs Washington, SDSU, New Mexico, and Air Force.
In 2016 did not cover vs USC, Colorado St, Wyoming, and Nevada all on the road. That's eight right there!
I have them 10-14 L4 years on the road ATS.

The record listed for Utah State is under Coach Gary Anderson who is back for
a second time this season with the Aggies. Anderson left after the 2012 season
and is returning for the 2019 season.

Matt Wells was the coach from 2013 - 2018. I did not list his stats at Utah State
so your instincts were well meaning...just wrong coach.

At least you're interested and doing some research....that's half the fun.

Crunching some more stats I see Gary Anderson since 2013 has been 14-17-1 ATS on the road. 5-4 at Wisky, 6-10-1 at Oregon St, and 3-3 LY at Utah St.
So that 77.3% very misleading. Anderson coaching three different teams in the last 6 years makes a good subject to test "Is it the coach" or the team?
