I made my first visit to Dover Sportsbook and casino (Del) last October and bet the W. Series ( from which I made a nice score on my $1200 wager)..Stayed at the Red Roof Inn (least expensive place I could find close by) I played craps maybe 4 to 5 hours in 2 day visit and about broke even, over that time. Left to come home and watch the series play out. Returned later to cash my Series ticket for which Dover Downs Hotel and Casino has ZERO record... (according to what I was told at the Capital Club program . These are where you get your card to show before playing casino games. Long story short, I was mailed a 2 free night hotel room, for which I took advantage...It said restrictions could apply, but I got a Sat and Sun night stay free. Dropped maybe $500 at the craps table, but left on the plus side because of series bet... Again was mailed a free 2 night stay for the next month, plus 4 --match plays of $10 each.. I went and lost in both the casino and in the sportsbook... Came home and again was mailed 2 free nights, no mention of a weekend restriction, so I went on the weekend and lost at the crap table and even worse in the sportsbook... The next mailing I got was for free 2 night stay, BUT ONLY SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHTS... Umm a little strange to me but I went and found out the Hotel and Casino had been bought out by some outfit in Rhode Island (Twin Rivers, I think was the name).. Wm Hill still ran the sportsbook as I asked.

So now that I can no longer get comped on the weekend and the Sports book is still separate (as it was before Twin Rivers came to Delaware), do they cater only to High Rollers in the casino?

I work for a casino. Weekends are going to be premium nights, especially as football season is starting up and business will jump with more sports bettors arrive. Our room rates can be upwards of $400 a night on weekends during peak season and we fill up fast. 70%+ of those rooms are comped and those that are paying cash are making up for those comped rooms on the casino's bottom line.

Casinos are also going to back you off Bonus Plays and offers the more you come. Once they think they have locked up your business, no reason to keep overly wine'ing and dining you. Good players that come once a month i see $200+ Bonus Plays, good players i see all the time $10-25 Bonus Plays.

Depending upon how you play craps can really effect your rating and comps. Odds get rated at my house, but earn you nothing. So if you play pass line with 50 odds, and say three come bets with 50 odds, your rating is $240, but your earning comps off $40 in action.

If they send me a 2 nighter for October will go and bet the series again. (it's a 400 mile rt journey for me, plus tolls). This time I will only play craps on the "iron Cross" system that I've read about.. And only for a couple of rolls each time. I'm not a big fan of casino games and they have only "$10" min tables for all games that I saw..

there is no brand loyalty when it comes to sports betting people will bet the best line, so not a ton of insentive for casino's to comp guests. Plus limited house advantage doesnt help your case either. I dont know anywhere that treats sports bettors great, unless your some millionare getting your clocked cleaned. They would rather give the perks to slot players or heavy table games players.
