Did you ever play ping-pong growing up like I did?

Good times. When I was in my teens and twenties my Dad and I were in ping-pong tournaments. Alot of good players. There were like 20 tables in a big gymnasium. When you won 2 out of 3 games you moved up to tougher competition. If you lost you moved down to a weaker opponent. We went every week. I remember I faced my Dad a few times. I think he beat me some of the time.
I have a few trophies. Good times back than. I still have my trophies.

My company has about 1200 employees, and I've won the table tennis tournament every year.

Growing up, the number one player in my state lived down the street from me, and he taught me well.

Thought for sure you were going to have a feud with a tranny playing table tennis. You don’t like trannies playing cross country or any other sport that nobody bets on....but table tennis is acceptable? Not enough of a competitive sport or what?

Sure ,I played as a kid, not on any organized competitive level.

I had a large basement room as a child with a bar-sized pool table and a ping pong top that could be set up in 5 minutes.

It's a game that can be played by virtually anyone of any age or ability level , a fun wholesome game requiring nothing more than the table, some paddles and balls...little else

In no way would I be like competitive with Chinese pros that stand 15 feet back from the edge of the table

That's way different. There is only one sport where I was qualified to practice with professional players ... That being Jai alai

I couldn't come close to competing with pros in any other sport, nothing even remotely close..
Maybe, just maybe, give me 300 at bats against a major league pitcher and I hit a cheap blooper type of single or make contact and drive a grounder between infielders.

Maybe I could bat .008 ?

Those Chinese players are amazing to watch and even bet on. Lol. Put them in your parlays. Favored by -800 or higher win most of the time.

I'm good, I can beat most people, but nowhere near the very best players whom I can't even compete with

I’m positive I’d be the betting favorite here against everyone once you saw me warm up...

Oh yeah. I had a table growing up. We would have massive tourneys in the neighborhood. We would wheel it out in the driveway when it was nice out. We spent HOURS playing. I got pretty good too. Its funny, I might not play for a year, the second I pick up that paddle it all comes right back.

I doubt it.

Have you ever hit with a top-50 in the world player?

Not saying I beat him, but I drilled with him... He used to play at the Austin Table Tennis Club

Can actually say that I have, he was Korean, and I learned a lot, as I got my ass kicked, but what does that have to do with anything? I'm definitely a badass because I played with a Top 50 player, umm kay...There is a Table Tennis Club here, too, but I haven't been in awhile. Last time it was a mix of college kids who thought they were good and pretty decent, these kick ass Koreans who were in a league of their own , and a few like me, can't beat em all, but win every time I play, and hold my own when I get fortunate to play a Far Easterner...lol

I'll just say this, at a Bash or Rx gathering, I'd have no problem tossing in a $500-1k buy-in double elimination Tourney, and I feel pretty confident I'd have a great chance of winning (I'm sure they're several others here that feel the same way towards themselves). Make all the side wagers you want, label me as the dog, and I'll take every side wager I can get...

Win or lose, we can agree, I still have as much fun playing now as I did as a kid, and deep down inside, that's all that really matters to me. Look forward to some nice games with my daughter when she gets of age. Teach them well...
