Is there going to be another contest this year? I thought it usually started signups around this time.

Under the impression that there will not be one. NO posting up. Other type of contests will replace it. GL.

There are baseball contests going on right now with post ups. I believe nothing will change from last year, with the exception that the treasurer/keeper of the monies cannot be an RX employee. In addition, RX not responsible for the non-RX employee that is treasurer if they bolt with the funds.

Hopefully I am right, but would love some clarification on this.

That said, I would be perfectly happy to offer treasurer services if necessary.

Stay tuned - the RX will be offering official, large pot contests during NFL/NCAAF season with the same picking format you guys are used to. There's no reason to do it all yourselves - the only difference is you won't have to part with your own funds for a chance at a great prize.

If you are dead set on sending funds to another poster and not participating in no risk contests that are officially sponsored, you'd do so at your own risk.

I would read this as, if you guys want a post up contest, you do it at your own risk but are free to do so. If you are interested in FREE entry contests, they will be offered as well. I can run the post up but cannot handle any funds. If anyone wants to bank the entry fees, be aware the total entries can become huge. Must be willing to accept the risk. Preference should go to a reputable poster here who has been a regular right up to the present time. We have been using Livin the Family Life! (LTFL) recently for MLB contests and has proven to be prompt and efficient and highly recommended, if he is interested. I also have an offer from Willie99, who has handled numerous banking duties for past contests. Also, as noted above, Heatwave has offered his services. Ball is your court guys.

Understood. As I said, I can handle funds for any contests. I am also open to LTFL and Willie doing as well.

So, would the post up contests run through the contest section of the forum as they have in years past? And the rules same as prior years? If so, JOH, I think we should do all contests that have been done in years past - NFL, NCAA, NFL Totals to name 3.

I would love to do the contest again - - Don't really have an issue with another poster holding the funds.

I would trust either LTFL or Willie to act as mock Hilton NFL contest banker.

But we need JOH to track the contest on his spreadsheets.

WE need those two things in place and we can resume the NFL contests.

I'm sure there would be a ton of interest.

Need to start it soon to give everybody time to enter. Longer it takes the less entries

There are certain winners of these contests that I will go above and beyond to work harder for. You, sir are not one of them. I'll leave it at that. I'm supposed to be on vacation until Wed, FWIW.

I believe there will be one for 2019, JOH has said he's going to start the process when he returns from vacation later this week

6 weeks is plenty of time, we'll be fine and it should be a great contest even if the numbers are down a bit, and who knows if that even happens

Are you volunteering to bank the contest, Willie?

just a suggestion since i learned a valuable lesson

You should use 2-3 guys to hold equal amounts in the NFL contest and 1 guy for College
and you can even use 1 guy just to accept Money orders

just my opinion

I agree with BAS -- if we use one person and something happens to that person -
we are out of luck and posters will be crying like last time.
Better to have multiple folks handling the funds -- easier said than done though

Just so you know...…….

BAS had a health emergency that was really serious. It's still serious while he works
to get better. The man is still in therapy and has a ways to go to get anywhere near
full recovery. BAS handled himself like the professional he is with all the crap being
thrown at him regarding the NFL contest. I admire him for that.

We're pulling for you to show improvement in the near future. God's speed Mike!

I've already gone on record endorsing Willie and LTFL. As Willie said, if drafted I will serve.

But I don't do PAYP*L so I would have to hold money orders. Just to be sure, I wouldn't want to cash them. I'd just hold them for redistribution at Contest conclusion. Would that work OK?

BAS, I assumed that you were back functioning normally. But after reading what cloverleaf wrote, it sounds like you are still rehabbing. Hope all is going as anticipated. We need ya and I'm sure your family and friends need you too. God speed.

Who is LTFL and what is his credibility?

Livin the Family Life! He's a veteran poster, well regarded and respected poster who has been serving as treasurer for our monthly MLB Contests for a while now. Be assured your money will be in good hands.
