New Orleans Pelicans rookie star Zion Williamson Opens a New Window. on Tuesday announced that he has agreed to a partnership with Nike subsidiary Jordan Brand.

Williamson revealed the partnership in posts on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. The former Duke University standout shared an image of himself in a basketball jersey with the Jordan Brand logo, alongside the phrase “Kingdom Come.”

“I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of the Jordan Brand family," Williamson said in a statement. "Since I was a kid, I dreamed of making it to the league and having the type of impact on the game Michael Jordan had and continues to have today. He was one of those special athletes I looked up to, and I really can’t express how happy and excited I am for this journey.”

Several top apparel brands were said to be competing to sign Williamson to a sneaker deal. Legendary marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro predicted to ESPN earlier this year that the deal could be worth $100 million, which would shatter the existing record for an NBA rookie.

“We’re excited to welcome Zion to the Jordan Brand,” said Craig Williams, Jordan Brand president. "It’s incredible to watch him play the game with unbridled passion and joy and we look forward to building our relationship with him for many years to come.”

Jordan Brand's roster includes fellow NBA star Jayson Tatum and NFL rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Williamson signed with the Nike subsidiary despite an infamous incident last February in which his Nike sneaker exploded during a game against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

I can nail future NFL quarterbacks damn near 98% of the time. I am prob 90% on NBA but I don't see it in Zion.

1. He is a short and fat small forward without a perimeter game at 6'7" He is nothing like Charles Barkley. In fact no millenial or whatever they are called now will be like Barkley.
2. Too short to bang down low and lacks post moves
3. At 25 what will his body look like? Looks like he has always been a little chubby and thats before getting millions.

These guys can develop though. I was amazed at how much Anthony Davis developed from colllege where he was largely a defensive presense to a more all around game

Yes he will give great highlight reel dunks in open floor but he is unable to create his own shot.

I don't see him as a potential game changer.

RJ Barrett game seems to transition to NBA better. Wide open floor game, can shoot. Need to develop his off hand is his biggest flaw.

98% and 90% hit rate? Why aren’t you a gm somewhere?

Barring injury, Zion will be a stud. Great signing for Jordan brand. His first release hype will be insane.

WHy am I not a GM? Seriously? Because the GM's currently and in the past just nail these picks.

Such a silly question. I cant even give a response to it....

But yes I would be a far better GM than alot of these guys. I amsure if I called any team right now, they would grant me an interview.

This is why I hate fat people and athlete worshippers. Too stupid to understand evaluation.

We all know The Greatest One would NEVER take a black qb

I would prefer to win instead of having a 12 yard highlight run that ESPN talks about 19 times on Sunday.

Proof is in the pudding. White QB has a much high probability of success.

I wouldn't mind my back up qb being a gangbanging homeboy. That is when they have success. You prepare all week for a 6'5" pocket passer with laser accuracy. He gets dinged up and you bring in the back yard football guy that will burn you.

Notice that is when Michael Vick had his success.
