This team will likely match the 100 wins from last year and win the division by 2-4 games, then lose in the ALDS.

They have all right handed hitters when their ballpark calls for left hitters.

Every one of their starting pitchers is nowhere near top 50 in the game, they are either too old ( Sabathia, Happ), playing damaged ( Tanaka), too green a rookie ( German), or ineffective ( Paxton).

They need to sign not one, but two that are better than this bunch of 3-4 inning bums , in order to get anywhere in the playoffs

Nobody wants to trade with them. The Mets can't send their pitching talent there, nobody in division wants to help them

There are only a few days left.

You don't win playoff games 14-12

Redsox are showing them up, I see them winning division but by a much closer margin than it is today, and I am a Yankees fan

Perfectly stated. For all of the fielding and hitting talent Cashman drafts and trades for, he has been equally as poor with his drafting and development of pitchers i.e. Justus Sheffield etc.

Spot on Doug.....come playoff time scoring 15 runs a game isn't what gets you there. They'll get knocked out early unless they acquire a couple solid arms. Red Sox are in the same boat their pitching hasn't been good either. As of now in the American league Houston has the best rotation/pen for a 7 game series IMO, but they lack that solid lefty. Cole and Verlander solid 1-2 punch

How much did you lose.

Nothing, I quit betting sports about a year after Neteller was no longer an option. However I follow the Yankees closely and would either bet against them or bet overs around now.

They will plug along win enough games to
coast into the division title and not make the WS, unless they get some starting pitching.

It's like they have a rotation of 5 openers, then it's the bullpen after 3.1 innings

At it again today....spot CC a 2-1 lead gives up a 2 run bomb very next inning bye bye lead. Red Sox win today they sweep the 4 games and make a huge cut into that division lead. No way this thing is over Yanks better wake the fuck up

You got that right, Jack !

Back in 1978 the Yanks came back on the Sox later than this in the season ( I believe) by 14.5 games, the Bucky Dent home run 1 game playoff and a WS win

Boston can do similar now, Ray's right there as well. I think it is very much a 3 way race that will tighten up.

I feel Cashman will sign another pitcher that is no better than what they have now as a compromise. They likely have their best chance to win this year and will not be as good next year

Typical Sabathia, in last year

4.1 IP, 9 hits, 5 earned runs

GL, Jack ! I'm not crazy about either of those bets, Sox at about -180 against arguably the Yanks current Ace, or what passes for an ace these days in the Bronx...

Under 10.5 is tough as well, I could see second half under if not a blowout in the first half

German/ Sale could be low scoring or 8 runs in the first inning. I'm not a -180 chalkeater against especially against a lineup like the Yanks have with their best opener pitching and a good bullpen and wanting to avoid the embarrassment of 4 game sweep

If I were to parlay this I'd take the opposite and go Yanks and over for a much better price and hope they score a bunch and pull out the Arms from the pen

-180 is too high for me, and 10.5 under is scary in Fenway on a summer night in perfect condition !

Good Luck, Jack !

I don't think the Yankees advance in the playoffs. They don't have that shutdown pitcher. A team can spend unlimited money every year and still not win championships.

Good points Doug.....Sox on the RL probably best play in this game value wise not having to lay the heavy juice. The way they've been hitting and the confidence sky high they should win by 2. German got LIT UP this week at Minny not a good spot to try and rebound. He is not a "stopper" type pitcher they need in this situation IMO, but if he's "on" he does have very good stuff. These two starters are going in opposite directions right now...Sale very solid L/2 starts and double revenge here vs Yanks losing twice already this season.

The total could go either way actually....tough to gauge, but the hot trend has been the over can't really go against it until it falls off. German 5+ road era and Sox pen is trash when having to enter early in games. If Yanks can get Sale's pitch count high and force him out of the game the over should hit

The way things are looking to go the Sox are gonna catch the Yanks for the division.....I can see it now. Great story for MLB keeping the fans and viewers in it

Yanks will pick up 2 decent starters the next few days, maybe a reliever, too. That will "hold them" and they will still win the division.

I doubt they will get an ace to match up against Verlander and Cole but all it takes is for the Yankees to beat one of them if / when they play, then it is even, and that is not so far fetched.

Yanks are coasting a tad, a bit banged up, and they are still very capable of going all the way and even winning the World Series.

I like Sox RL way better than -180, German is a rookie beyond his innings pitched limit and it's still July, no way I'd go under !

In fact I think the best bet might be 1st 5 over, not sure what the number is,both teams can hit, either pitcher is fallable, over 5-,,5.5 or whatever first five, that's my line O/U 5.5 first 5 innings, I day over before the Yankees put in their decent relievers in the 4th inning, as starters/ openers ?, go 3.1 innings

What 2 decent starters come to mind ?

I assume you're talking about the better than what they have now ?

I don't think too many are available ?
