Is $500 too much to pay for a lifetime of unlimited creamy mushroom fettuccine?

Not at all, according to more than 20,000 die-hard Olive Garden fans.

The Lifetime Pasta Passes — which are a new promotion for 2019 — entitle the 50 lucky recipients to unlimited pasta, soup, salad and breadsticks for their entire lifetimes. It’s the first time Olive Garden has offered a promotion of this magnitude, having only offered seasonal Never Ending Pasta Passes, and once an Annual Pasta Pass, in past years.

In retrospect, it’s not entirely surprising that this year’s Pasta Passes and Lifetime Pasta Passes sold so quickly. In 2018, Olive Garden’s limited Annual Pasta Passes, which allowed the bearer to a year’s worth of unlimited food, sold out in less than a second, per the Daily Meal. And in 2017, all 22,000 of the passes Olive Garden offered sold out in one second as well.

The lucky 50 “winners” of this year’s Lifetime Pasta Passes will be notified of their windfall Friday morning, and will have 48 hours to claim the deal, an Olive Garden representative confirmed to Fox News.

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read on the internet? Out of business in 5 years? Please let me know what amount you'd like to bet, and we can post up. No, they are not some top shelf Italian joint, but they are absolutely packed every single time I have gone there. I'm not sure I've ever gone there and haven't had to wait for a seat.

really. did anyone think howard johnson's would have been reduced down to one store. the last one is in maine. how about sears and roebuck. near extinction. how about valles, bennigans, chi chi's, lums, kenny rogers roasters, ponderosa, bonanza, white tower all former successful chains who were all better than the olive garden which the public will soon tire of. eventually they all fall by the wayside and the olive garden is headed that way.

A lot of pasta lovers around.......

they serve poor people's food. mainly only poor people that frequent this gyp joint. sales have been plummeting for 7 straight years for a reason. they have overbuilt and the amount of stores has stabilized and will now start heading downward and eventually be bankrupt.

So take his bet and make money...I have never eaten there even though one is less than 1 mile from me...I simply make my own with .90 pasta 1.00 tomato sauce and 3.00 lb ground chuck...2 meals for 5 bucks or so..And throw in frozen breadsticks or garlic bread for an extra 1.00 or so...Less than 3.00 per meal...

I agree. Food isn’t very good. You’ll get your bang for your buck if you get their specials and that’s what usually people show up for. Never ending bread, salad, and pasta lol. It’s for cheap people.

I think they have what people still want right now and that’s what will keep them in business I think for another 5 years. But you could be right in 10.

i can't be sure about the 5 year thing. they will probably gut it out for at least 8-10. their business model is to fill you up with bread and lettuce which they are ok with providing. they are thin when it comes to main course quality.

Went a few months ago..my pops is a sucker for the endless salad and breadsticks. Values too good. But, on the special pasta deal it’s just cheese, sauce, and pasta. No meat or seafood. Weak shit

Nice backtrack, but they definitely aren't going bankrupt, at least in the short term. People love their food, it's decent, and there's minimal competition in this market. Not like a burger or pizza joint where there's one on every corner.

This is a joke right? They are owned by darden which is the top player in casual dining. Darden literally owns blocks of restaurants in my area that are packed 24/7

they are the mcdonalds of italian food. their parent company has enough cash to survive. the public is duped by good advertising. sales have been declining however. they do stuff you full of breadsticks hoping you will go light on their sub standard main dishes.

Olive Garden is poor man's food? A lot of really high rollers in this place. Is it the best food ever? No but $15.00 for a meal isn't poor people food at least where I live.

Someone else mentioned it I go maybe twice a year and think it's good but also agree the ones I've been too, always packed.

Where i live, Olive Garden is within 2 miles of about a million different restaurants and its USUALLY always packed.

I loved it as a kid but rarely eat there now.

I went a few months ago for a birthday for Sunday lunch. The food was good (i dont like italian chain restaurants) and NOT cheap

IF you get the pasta specials for like $8-9 bucks and eat breadsticks and salad....that’s a pretty cheap and valued meal by a lot of people.

The pasta special is a hoax though
