Much to the consternation of most observers, the Antonio Brown helmet saga remains a thing.

According to multiple reports, Brown has filed a new grievance against the NFL in an attempt to wear the helmet he's worn throughout his career. ESPN was the first to report this development, citing a source.

This course of action comes a week after his original grievance against the NFL was rejected by an arbitrator.

Brown has disagreed with that decision, and the wide receiver skipped the Oakland Raiders' practice on Sunday in protest over the helmet issue. This drew the criticism of Raiders general manager Mike Mayock, who was blunt with his assessment of the situation, saying, "So from our perspective, it's time for him to be all in or all out."

On Monday, Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, responded to Mayock's comments, saying, "We're looking for a permanent solution." On Monday, according to multiple reports, Brown rejoined the Raiders. This latest grievance, however, likely throws Brown's situation into further chaos.

Brown has been upset with the NFL for not allowing him to wear his Schutt AiR Advantage helmet — the only helmet he has worn in his NFL career — because it is older than 10 years and as a result no longer certified. The NFL and NFLPA have been clear that players are not allowed to wear helmets not certified by the National Operating Commission on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE).

The seven-time Pro Bowl receiver, who is in his first season with the Raiders after an offseason trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is experiencing a most bizarre training camp saga. As if the helmet conflict isn't enough, Brown also has missed practice time after burning the bottom of his feet in a cryotherapy chamber.

I would suspend his ass for the first four games to give him time to work out
his "it's all about me" problems.

His "me, me, me" attitude is toxic for a TEAM and can be contagious if allowed.
I'm tired of hearing about the SOB. Time for Raiders to put their foot down.

2,000 players in the NFL and he’s the only guy whining about his helmet. Mob will tell you the NFL is racist towards Brown.

Seems like all the lames wind up in Oakland......Gruden should make an example of Brown.

Or maybe Gruden wants chaos, & is hoping for the worst record so they can draft #1......I'm sure the Raiders want to have a winning record the first year they are in Vegas.

Brown practiced today with the Raiders wearing a certified NFL helmet.

He may be full of himself but he ain't stupid enough to walk away from $30 million.

I'm beginning to like general manager Mike Mayock. More NFL GMs need his balls.
