I can't think of a single one that worked from the team viewpoint, but plenty of failures or failing ones

I can't think of a single good one !

Decided to Google 10 year contracts and looks like the only one so far that worked for a team based on that players performance for that team would be Jeter.

No. At this point, it is seemingly a desperate attempt by teams to grab Cable TV contract attention, and perhaps some fans for a few years. It makes little to no sense.
