The Marlins are just 5-19 in their last 24 games, and the Reds have easily won the first two games of this series. Cincinnati’s lineup is far better, and it’s not like the Marlins have any sort of home-field advantage to speak of.

Taking the hill for the Marlins will be Sandy Alcantara and he has gone 4-11 with a 4.15 ERA in 25 starts on the year, including 0-1 with a 2.08 ERA in his last three starts and 2-7 with a 4.57 ERA in 13 starts here at home. Righties are hitting .246 off of him this year, while lefties are hitting .240 against him. In his career, he has gone 4-8 with a 4.26 ERA in 20 games (16 starts) at Marlins Park ....

On the mound for the Reds will be Anthony DeSclafini, he enters this one with a 4.27 ERA,. He’s been great in his last two outings, giving up only one run each time. The Reds have managed to take care of business against bad teams like Miami, winning five straight games against teams with winning percentages below .400.

  • The Marlins are 1-9 in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 1-11 in Alcantara’s last 12 starts vs. a team with a losing record.
  • The Reds are 8-3 in DeSclafani’s last 11 starts during game 3 of a series....
The Reds are still the better team in this contest and have the edge on the mound. Anthony DeSclafani has a solid 1.63 ERA in his last two starts and he will be facing one of the worst offenses in the league. The Marlins have lost nine of their last 11 games, including the first two of this series.

Taking the Reds-1 rl @ (-121) to drop the steep price (-150) down to make it more manageable.
