As great as the Patriots last 20 years were. Things like this are one of the reasons a lot of people don't like them.

While most fans are praying for this guy to not get any type of offer from any team mainly because he is just being a bad human. An egomaniac who sabotaged his team last year by not showing up. Then did the same type of thing this season. Just being an untrustworthy creep. Not only do the Patriots sign him, but they reward him handsomely for being a scummy person. Makes them very hard team to root for unless it's your home team. Usually after teams have great great runs even fans who hated them kind of secretly root for one last harrah, but not the Patriots. They are just too scummy.

With the cheating scandals: Spygate, deflategate

The bad people they reward: after teams cut ties with a problem player, the patriots are always there, no matter the transgression, it's not about 2nd chances, they could care less, it's just getting talent cheap. The only time they passed was when the cut Hernandez, all it took was a murder. When he dropped in the draft because of character issues and gang related issues, they wasn't enough, but murder finally was.

Tough team to root for.

I am a Patriot fan. Spygate and deflategate were way overblown. In the scheme of things both were minor offenses and centered around offenses admitted to by other teams and QBs. If some admit you can bet that most are just as guilty as the Patriots.

But I do agree that something ain't right when they can (and do) sign this bum after what he pulled in Pittsburgh and Oakland. Rumors began immediately here on Sportstalk radio after his release this morning. Rumors became fact. And I, as a Patriot fan, never wanted them to make this move. Brown is an untrustworthy creep just as you said. Wouldn't it be ironic if he became the bomb that finally blew the Pats dynasty to smithereens. If I'm Patriot team members I'm not too happy today. I really hope the Pats didn't overreach here. I HATE this signing.

You need cutthroat villains to remind you that life isn't fair.

The Patriots dominance is just a reminder of that.

Who cares what he did in his previous stops? Patriots don't have some ethical duty not to sign guys that cause problems for other teams. If they had stronger cultures then they wouldn't run into these problems as often as they do.

It isn't the Patriots fault that Tomlin is a clown and the Raiders have been an absolute dumpster fire since they lost the superbowl the night Jimmy Kimmel live made its debut.

AB now stands for About Beatdown as far as the rest of the league is concerned.

Unreal. Raiders give up a 3rd and a 5th and get nothing in return. Meanwhile the Pats give up nothing and they'll also get a compensatory pick in next years draft if he signs elsewhere.

I liked this team a lot before Antonio Brown. They didn't need him to get back to the Big Game. Chemistry counts wherever people have to grunt together. The risk to the downside is greater than the risk to the upside in my opinion. But there will be no way to measure this.

Having said that I'd rather root for a team I like (I've loved the Patriots since the B&B era began in 2001) and I'm gonna have a hard time rooting for this asshole no matter what he contributes. I like to like my friends and my teams. Simple.

Probably a good time to point out that 4 hours ago they were relying heavily on their #1 outside WR to be a guy that hasn't played a full season since 2013. #1 overall receiver is 33 w/ a lot of playoff mileage on him. No pass catching threats at TE to speak of as well. So it isn't like this wasn't a position of need.

Just antics aside and strictly football wise, AB a great route runner which should fit the offense to a tee and pretty much everyone says he is the hardest working player they've ever been around. His work ethic is Jerry Rice level legendary stuff. Maybe in a month you will be singing a different tune.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Brown/Rosenhouse and the Patriots had a handshake deal to sign him if he could get out of his Raiders situation.

Handshake deal is probably a little strong but Rosenhaus likely knew NE was interested because they tried to trade for him a few months ago and supposedly Pitt just wasn't at all interested in trading him to the Patriots.

Well, looks like you can't always get what you want as the Stones used to say.

Those of you expecting a Moss like season need to temper expectations. This is a different Brady now.

Tom isnt going to force feed AB 15 targets a game like big ben did and Carr was going to. He will spread the ball around and this is still a ball control offense with a 42 year old QB. Brady will not be scrambling out of the pocket and delivering haymakers to AB like Ben. In terms of pure production I liked AB more as a raider.

However, hes a huge addition to the pats if we are talking super bowl hopes. If Brady can avoid injury hes probably got #7

The concern is AB mindset doesnt fit as a patriot. His stats come before the team winning. He would rather have them lose but he goes 13 catches for 180 and 2 scores.
