had a good year last year and was able to follow others to a very profitable season, look forward to it again this season.
For now just futures:

Winnipeg under 93.5 2 units
this team took a step back in a lot of areas and have some contracts looming for their stars. lost myers and trouba on defense and there is a lot of firepower they are up against in thier division. i think winnipeg is fourth in the division behind st louis, dallas and colorado....may be on the outside lookin in come playoff time....maybe even trade some players as the deadline approaches. had 99 points last year, i expect them to take a step back.

Dallas over 96.5 2 units
one of the better offseasons in the nhl and little talk about them, a lot of hype around colorado which i will back away from a little since its so trendy. like the pavelski signing and they are a tough gritty team on defense. like what they showed in the playoffs last year and like them to compete for the division and get over 100 points.

Pittsburgh under 94.5 2 units
just a confusing offseason in my opinion. they let kessel go i guess for some locker room reasons. they traded oleksiak and have a lot of young forwards. in the end i just dont see how they stop teams defensively even though they can score. crosby is going to be asked to do a lot a sid isnt that much of a kid anymore...

Vegas over 101.5 2 units
best team in the west in my opinion at least to start the season. should come out strong and i think considerably better than anyone in their division

Washington over 97.5 2 units
Homer pick....i named my son Holtby.......i love the caps. team is still very good, talented and good depth. not sure how gudas will fit in and losing niskanen and orpik are unfortunate but they were aging players that had big contracts. having them come off the books should help resign holtby and backstrom in the offseason. like keeping hagelin a lot, was a very important player on the penalty kill and should save some of the aging legs that the stars have so that we can have another shot at the cup

Caps to win division 2 units +300
Vegas to win the west 2 units +325
Dallas to win division 1 unit at +400

cheers to a great season
lets win some $
cheersgif

Agree with most of your assessments. Winnipeg is really hamstringed with the Laine and Kyle Connor holdouts. Especially Laine who will probably join this team late no matter what happens in the next week. If it gets dragged out like the Nylander situation last year then it could have a season long effect. Where’s Byfuglien’s head at? Does Hellebyuck bounce back from a ordinary 2018-19? So far in his young career he seems to alternate good year and mediocre. I have a shop out here with 94.5 on the Jets and I’ll probably take that in the next couple days.

100% with you on Vegas and you got a good number at 101.5. Best I can find in Vegas is 102.5 +100, (over). Despite this team being absolutely stacked and arguably playing in the weakest division in the NHL I think the number is spot on. Too close for me to tie up funds for half a year only to sweat out the last couple games of the season where I think this wager is decided.

If Dustin Byfuglien decides to pack it in, the Winnipeg Jets go from Stanley Cup contenders to team fighting to make the playoffs. Last year the Jets had Byfuglien, Jacob Trouba, Tyler Myers and Ben Chiarot as four of their Top 5 defencemen. It’s possible they have none of those four this year.

that would be crazy but your right, team looks completely different and may deal away some expiring contracts if they are on the outside looking in come the trade deadline. cant wait to get the season started

damn sounds like i coulda get some better lines for sure. i must admit that i dont shop lines. have had a local with a price per head website for over a decade now. havnt had an offshore book since i was in college. like having a local bookie so i get the cash in hand and what not but sometimes the lines just arent the best.
i really like vegas this year. those odds look good to me and id grab some of that at those prices for sure.

Vegas over 3.5 goals 2 units
Vegas -165 2 units
Revenge game for them after last years loss in the playoffs and in my opinion they are improved while the sharks have declined. Think there is a lot of energy for opening night tonight and the golden knights come out fast and aggressive. Like the first period over as well but opening night i will hold back. San Jose isnt the same team as last year and the suspension to Kane i think will be the start of a list of problems the team faces over the year. My local doesnt have in regulation up at the moment, when he does assuming its around even money i will likely play it.

nice start to the season
2-0 + 4 units
Rangers -120 2 units
not high on winnipeg as i stated earlier, not really in love with the rangers either but think the home crowd on opening night should be there for them. not really sure what to expect from new york this year but this is a play against winnipeg for me more so than a play on the rangers.

overall record: 3-0 + 6 units
Sides 2-0
Team Totals 1-0

Philadelphia/Chicago under 6.5 1 unit -110
Game is being played in the czech republic. Chicago scored a ton of goals last year but couldnt stop anyone. Not sure if they will this year but philly offensively doesnt pose the threat many other teams do and they may have shored up their goal tending issues with Hart. While neither team may be good defensively that has to have been the focus for each team in the off season. Will take a chance that the line is a little inflated here and both teams focus would be more on the defensive end at least to start the season.

Great work so far! I know nothing about hockey, but i'll openly say that I'm a Blackhawks "fairweather" fan. There are some die hards here in Chicago though.

Just curious to know what your take was on the team this year and how you think they'll do and finish in the division. I just listen to the sports radio talk here, so that's how i "learn" what's going on in hockey.

Good luck this afternoon! GO HAWKS.

thanks varkey, tough loss today but the last 3 minutes of the second period somewhat did it in.
hockey is the one sport i can watch non stop and stay glued to it. all others i just keep on and peek in while the game is on.
i laid off about any bet i could on the blackhawks simply cause the division i think is stacked and the firepower of toews and kane is impressive. last year their numbers were amazing despite the team being terrible. i dont think that they can repeat that so the defense has to improve for them to be any better record wise. i think dallas and colorado are really good as well as the defending champions st. louis. chicago got a good backup in lehrner which i thought was a good move but ultimately with the firepower in that division i dont know how they can stack up. at best a low seed in the playoffs, most likely a slightly improved team from last year. they are deeper than last year and have a good backup goalie--should be an improvement. Matta and De Haan are gonna be asked to do a lot more than i think they are capable of.

philly doesnt present much offensively in my opinion so i think today is a sign of things to come. gonna be much harder stopping other teams they will face. once again could be a good over team. if you want to bet on them id go with a tt bet because while they could score 5-6 its likely they would give up that much as well.

ive stated why i like them previously. im not as high on the sharks as most others, i in fact think its gonna be a tough season for them. the line i think reflects what was a close seven game series last year but i think vegas is still on the revenge train and should play as they did opening night. will support vegas against anyone in the west at this price. as stated before im very high on vegas this season and look at them as a real threat to win the division, west and cup as well.

record 4-1 +6.9 units
New Jersey -105 2 units
devils have played very poorly but slightly better at home where they have 2 losses in overtime, the collapse vs winnipeg was awful. in each home game they outshot their opponent and had better offensive chances. i dont view them as a terrible team as their start to the season would indicate. i think at home vs a florida team is a good chance for them to finally get the offense going. florida has given up at least 3 goals in every game and are also a team struggling. they played 2 road games in a row that went to a shootout, i would suspect that although the season is early that has some tired legs going into this game even with a day of rest. think its a good time for new jersey to get their first win at home. lot of games start at 1 today--columbus day always a great day for hockey

new jersey sucks, looks like they will continue to suck. blew a large lead at home again, no lead is safe with that team.
4-2 +4.8 units

Vegas -1.5 -120 2 units
In my opinion this is a huge mismatch and vegas needs to find some rhythm. They havnt really hit their stride yet but ottawa is a good team to do it against. Vegas has the depth to give ottawa trouble for 60 minutes and i dont think ottawa can hold vegas at bay. Vegas should attack early (read a stat yesterday that Vegas games are 7-0 for scoring in the first 10 minutes, im sure thats other teams as well but it shows me a fast start). I think vegas after a bad loss to Nashville will be focused and come out hot against ottawa. Expect 5 from vegas tonight and i dont think the senators can keep up.
