Year after year after year we see the same scenario for northwestern: unimpressive pre conference play but with signs of progression followed by turning it on in conference with upsets of bigger name programs. The astute Cats watcher is able to use this to make money as they spend late September-October as dogs before the public catches up.
Northwestern has beaten MSU three years in a row as a dog. They have gone 15-1 the last 16 regular season games in the Big Ten. Yes, you read that right. They have let up 21 points this year in two games...and yet somehow they are sizable HOME dog to an MSU team that hasn't had an offense in what seems like a decade.
