Did any of you read the story about the Des Moines Register firing a reporter that dug up old Tweets?

Cliff notes version:

Iowa St. student named Carson King held up a sign on gameday asking for donations to replenish his beer supply. Well, he ended up raising a load of money and donated it to the local children's hospital.

Then, a local reporter dug up old inappropriate tweets when the 24-year-old was 16 and published them.

On Thursday, the paper fired the reporter.

Good for them.

Well the Twitter reporter had offensive tweets as well, which is why he was fired. You think a newspaper would fire a journalist when they themselves edited and approved the story in the first place?

Well, people have pointed that out too. Someone approved the story so why weren't they held accountable too is what some have said.
