Amber Guyger was found guilty of murder yesterday.
To recap this is the Dallas police officer whom after coming off a 13.5 hr shift mistakenly shot a man in his own apartment after thinking she was walking into her apartment.

I was surprised to be honest. I thought she'd get manslaughter 1 or manslaughter 2. She could serve a sentence of between 5 - 99 years. Wonder how long she'll get.

She made a mistake. The parking garage and apartment floors look the same on every level. She had worked a long day and was on the phone while parking. It has been confirmed she also parked on the wrong floor of the parking garage and she had no previous interactions with the victim.

Do you mind telling me what in the actual FUCK is racist about this tragic event?

They said she had a history and didn't seem remorseful. Also she just started shooting when he was sitting down watching TV? I rarely agree with Vitterd but I think he has a point here.

For the record there was a BRIGHT red doormat in front of victims door, which the murdering cop did not have in front of here front door.

Guilty of murder seems appropriate. Again, this was not racist. Fucking race baiting losers are polluting tha society. Its always anti white.

a guy lost his life cause this bitch made a mistake & walked into the wrong apartment ....... let me ask you this , if it was reversed & she was black & the victim was white you can bet your ass that they’d bury her ass with time ( a long time ) behind bars . but with her being white & victim black & with her being a cop well ........ it’s gonna be interesting to see what happens , i’d give her the maximum allowed by law . & what the hell do they mean by ‘ history ‘ ?

This is what I wonder the most. Because she's an ex-cop, is she's gonna get a light sentence. (10 years or less for murder)

Actually her racist history was revealed during sentencing by the prosecution. They showed a series of racist texts she sent to her fellow officers, a collection of racist memes and pictures saved from her social media accounts.

“ she made a mistake” .... is your tone like Ilan Omar when she said “ somebody did something “ ? , yeah she fucked up & it ended up costing an innocent man his life , snuffed out by a cop . her ass should’ve been paying more attention to what she was doing then maybe an innocent guy would still be alive & her ass might not be looking at a long prison sentence , I hope she gets a looooooong time behind bars & not some ‘ slap ‘ on the wrist , who gives a fuck if she never interacted with the victim before ( how do you know that they’ve never talked on the building premises before or seen each other around ) they did live in same apartment complex .

I mean, I watch the show "First 48" a lot and three guys got in an argument with a man in a park on a recent episode. They jumped him after an argument, beat him and stabbed him. The stiffest sentence? 4 years.

It happens to people all the time who aren't ex-cops.

I believe like 3-4 months later, she was returning from work late at night, entered the apartment below hers (3rd floor instead of 4th or something like that) door was unlocked and finds a man sitting on what she thinks is her couch in her living room.

She thought the man was a burglar and shot and killed him. Turns out it was his apartment not hers and he was eating some ice cream watching some TV.

Some posters cite reasons to have empathy, while others are convinced it was cold blooded murder, hence my confusion

If I had to make a call, I'd suggest she had her day in court and the jury rendered it's verdict

But juries also set OJ and that illegal immigrant who gunned down a girl in SF go free, so juries are not perfect
