Welcome back, former degenerates (if you’ve been riding this heater anyway), here it is, your most beloved weekly article on the slate at QwickPicks. If you’ve been with us all season, you know this is the play where you should be designating somewhere between 5 and 95% of your weekly bankroll/paycheck/IRA, etc. Whether you’re a major player or a shortstop, the QwickPicks brand doesn’t believe you should have to pay ridiculous sums of money to a tout service to get proven winners regularly. We’re winners and we want you to be winners too. The pick laid forth in this segment each week is the most scientifically, painstakingly chosen winner of the week, and you can rest assured knowing that there have been several seconds, perhaps even minutes of analysis devoted to this commodity. Here we go.
This week we’re going to Stillwater for a match-up between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Baylor (jailbirds - better tread lightly on the jokes here) Bears. Both of these teams have had some deceptive outcomes so far this season and Vegas knows that. Statistically, Baylor appears to be the superior squad, thanks to a notably weaker schedule. Despite being 6-0, Baylor has been let off the hook on multiple occasions, most notably in games against Iowa State (blew a 20 point lead) and Texas Tech (gave up a 97-yard drive with under two minutes). It would be interesting to see what the line would be here if either of these outcomes had turned out differently. Oklahoma State is coming fresh off a bye following a tough loss at the hands of Texas Tech where 19-year-old redshirt freshman QB Spencer Sanders threw five interceptions, still managing to only lose by ten. One key nugget of info here is that Baylor lost their leading tackler/elite defensive player, senior linebacker Clay Johnston (58 tackles, 28 more than anyone else on the team), to a season-ending injury in the 4th quarter last Saturday. It remains to be seen how Baylor will adjust, but the value here is massive. The Cowboys are 7-0 ATS over their last 7, including 5-0 at home.
Let’s keep it rolling this week with Oklahoma State -3.5
