Week 8 review...……..

*Unbeaten teams: Alabama, App State, Baylor, Clemson, LSU, Minnesota, Oklahoma,
Ohio State, Penn State, SMU.

*Best teams ATS: App State 5-1, Auburn 6-1, Central Michigan 6-1-1, LSU 5-1-1,
Navy 5-1, Ohio State 6-1.

*Wisconsin blew a 9 point lead in the final 9:46 of the fourth quarter allowing Illinois to
upset them.

*Georgia passed for just 35 yards in win over Kentucky in rain soaked game.

*Joe Burrow set LSU's single-season passing touchdown record with his 29th of the year.

*Oregon is now 6-1 overall and 4-0 in Pac 12 play after defeating No. 23 Washington 35-31.

*Matt Rhule has Baylor at 7-0 and in contention for a New Year's Six Bowl. Coach of the
Year so far in my opinion.

*Unpredictable Virginia Tech outlast North Carolina in 6 overtimes 43-41.

*Texas allowed 569 yards of offense to Kansas and escaped on a last second field goal.

*South Carolina had Florida on the ropes for three quarters, then came the 21 point surge
by the Gators winning 38-27.

*After losing consecutive games to Notre Dame and Miami, Virginia rebounded by pounding
Duke 48-14.

*Arkansas lost its fourth straight game to Auburn and takes on Alabama this week. Ouch!

*Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence has thrown and ACC leading 8 interception this season.

*Kansas came into the Texas game with the worst offense in the Big 12 then hung 48 points
on the Longhorns.

*Southern Cal's injury riddled team has a short week of preparation for a trip to snowy Colorado
Friday night.

*Navy's 35-3 win over South Florida was the first time the Midshipmen did not allow a touchdown
since 2013.

*Alabama's starting QB will be out for a week or two with a high-ankle sprain. Lucky Arkansas.

*Missouri lost 21-14 to lowly Vanderbilt, which one week ago lost 34-10 at home to UNLV.

*Michigan ran 84 plays to Penn State's 54 but still lost the game.

*Toledo has careened off the tracks in back-to-back losses to Bowling Green and Ball State.

*Since losing to Baylor, Iowa State has rolled off 3 convincing Big 12 wins against TCU, West
Virginia and Texas Tech.

*Wake Forest beat Florida State and nobody is surprised. Times have changed.

*FAU coach Lane Kiffin was fined $5000 for criticism of the officials after losing to Marshall.

*Ohio State continues to show again why they're the class of the Big Ten with a dominate
win over Northwestern. May just be the best team in the country?

*Iowa's defense might be as good as any in the Big Ten but the offense is threating to
submarine the season.

*Tennessee played Alabama touch but had 13 penalties and 2 turnovers in loss to the Tide.

*Miami (3-4,1-3) matched its worst seven-game start in 22 years with loss to Georgia Tech.

*UConn held the ball for 36 minutes and outgained Houston 438-284 but still managed to lose
the game.

*Auburn set an NCAA record Saturday for most consecutive extra points (304) then you guessed
it...missed the next one.

*Akron (worst team in football) managed 3 net yards rushing against Buffalo while losing its
seventh straight game.

*No. 19 SMU improved to 7-0 with a 45-21 win over Temple.

*Ohio State's J.K. Dobbins leads the nation in rushing with 947 yards.

*UAB's defense suffocated Old Dominion 38-14 for its 16th straight home win.

*Remember, It's not how you drive...It's how you arrive. GL

I'll start with this.

Lane Kiffin is 100% complacent at FAU. He's made enough $$ from previous gigs. Seems like he likes living in Boca Raton and the fanbase (little as it is) is content with winning records and going to bowl games. After a STRONG first season, these last 2 seasons for Lane and FAU have been lackluster.

The Miami Hurricanes are an embarassment. I have 2 other visuals in my head when the canes hit rock bottom. 2007 when they played their last game in the Orange bowl when UVA shut them out and put up over 40. 1997 and 1998 when Donovan McNabb and the cuse took em to the wood shed. Losing to GT is unacceptable. I dont need to hear "The U is back" for a while. They NEED a kicker. Carlos Huerta is NOT walking through that door.

I watched the overtime of UNC/VT. Not sure if i like that once the 5th OT starts, you only get 1 play and its a 2 pt conversion

Baylor has officially impressed me. I was a fan of coach Ruhle when coaching Temple. November 16- Oklahoma at Baylor!!

Tua will miss Arkansas this week and then has a Bye week but should be back Nov 9 vs LSU. He is (conservatively) a top 10 draft pick next year. I wonder how many future top 10 qb's would shut it down for the year if this happened to them??

I would love to see an Ohio State vs LSU bowl game where is "means something"

Wisky pooped the bed

Who would have thought before the season started that Indy would be favored AT Nebraska??

I didnt watch a minute of the Oregon vs Washington game. Looked like a fun one!! Curious to see what the Utah/Washington line will be next week

I wanted to see Kansas beat Texas. Almost had them. I saw the score was close, wanted to change the channel, but i was watching something at the time and it was a crucial moment

Cant believe Tulane laid an egg vs Memphis

The Penn State whiteout is AWESOME

Who has the inside track for the G5 representative now that Boise lost? Is it Cincy?

Thanks for letting me post!!

Well done Knight....

I agree with the whiteout at Penn State... imposing for visiting teams.

Ohio State and LSU may be playing in the NC game...both really strong right now.

Couldn't agree more.
I'm in the minority but I feel SMU is top 10 in the country right now

Their QB is TEN TIMES better than any other Group of five team's QB.

SMU @ Memphis November 2

Should me a good one.

Possible SMU vs Cincy AAC conference title game. Winner of that game may be the G5 rep. I think the home team would have the MAJOR advantage

Clemson doesn't deserve to be in top 4 just because they're the defending champ. ACC over all is average and they don't have any impressive win or great body of work thus far. It's as travesty if somehow OU goes undefeated and left out of playoffs.

1. Ohio st - based of ridiculous stats and winning margin. TOP O and D, regardless how average Big 10 is. Ask Wisky.
2. Bama - No obvious flaw beside this year version of D compare to previouses'
3. LSU - Not great D as above or stat wise but decent. That offense tho...
4. OU - Jalen Hurts may hurt all the teams above. Licoln Riley is best offensive college mind. Can't tell me otherwise if he can somehow produce 3 straight Heisman winners.

I think Memphis has played a slightly tougher schedule, and they get this game at home giving them a nice edge.I like how SMU has played this year, and this should be a good game,...should be on TV somewhere,i'd like to watch this one

the time hasn’t been announced yet but this has 330 on ABC written all over it (as long as both teams win this week).

It would be up against Fla vs Georgia on CBS and VT vs ND on NBC

I wanted to add 2 things

1) Funny how we were talking about SMU/MEMPHIS as that is where college gameday is headed this week. Pretty cool for "someone else" to get a gameday. Look for the crew to go to Minny next week

2) Look at the AP rankings. When was the last time that 4 people had multiple first place votes this late in the season? I dont recall ever (help us out Mack Donald!!)
