Stephen Harper balnaced the federal budget on election yr DEPSITE crushed oil prices; Canadian govt inlays were greater than outlays ran a suplus (Canada is a commidity based economy,unlike USA which is largely consumer based , 70% of GDP for USA is based on consumer consumption). What Harper did that year that yr was incredible , HOWEVER he was voted out.Canada is running MASSIVE deficits under Trudeau. Today's budgets are tomorrows taxes , BASIC FUCKIN MATH!!!!...more monies needed to pay interest on the debt, less monies available for discretionary, worse NEEDS. What does that tell you? people care what a politician can give them. They DO NOT care about the health of a govt balance sheet. They feel govt can 'just make money'.
