No doubt they are good, first of all. But, IMO, I think they are a little overrated at this point. Look at their wins...with the exception of Buffalo, which isn’t great, they have beaten the likes of the Jets twice, Washington, and Miami.....all atrocious teams offensively and defensively. JMO.

Don't forget their total domination of the Steelers with Ben. They're not beating teams, they're destroying them

And this defensive run started in the playoffs last year

If you want to call them overrated, I'm OK
with that

And thank you thank you thank you

PS: the Jets manhandled the Cowboys last week

They are good, no doubt. I think the Steelers were just average. As for the Cowboys, they are overrated also. We will see as the season rolls along. GL 2 U!

Would love if they got OJ Howard. Or Emmanuel Sanders, maybe n keel is the goods. Don’t like the phantom penalties that get called on jc Jackson. Collins is very good playing with Hightower

Thanks for this thread. I'm sick of how all media just crown them as just amazing. Meanwhile their opponents they've played are a combined 12-31. Wow!! You beat a Jets team twice a winless Dolphins and at the time a winless Deadskins who only got a win because they beat the Dolphins !!! 1 winning record the Bill's, the probably shouldn't have won. Just amazing how no sports show or media talk about the level of competition they have played when they fluff them up in the year.

No doubt the Pats are in a league of their own but it does help to be in a division with the likes of Miami, Buffalo & the Jets, that's 6 gimmies every year.
I don't understand how those teams can be so consistently bad all these years

That's what fuels dynastys when the Steelers had their's they had Cinn & Clev ... Houston Oilers were OK some of the time.

Duckhunter,

For me, the Patriots are the GOAT until the next dynasty (if ever) rears their head. Your assessment on them being overrated at this point is plausible based on their light schedule, but it seems with the exception of the 2007 season, the Patriots at times don’t necessarily have to show all their cards. In fact, I’d say at times they even played down to the level of their competition as it seems Brady and Co. are sleepwalking week to week until they have to face a remedial level opponent.

There shouldn't be any doubt at this point that they’ll continue their streak of winning the east, make the playoffs and likely have a bye week and home field advantage throughout the AFC. Of course this is all contingent on injuries and such. Speaking of the latter, Mahomes injury obviously plays into what I’m speaking of for this season as the Chiefs were going to be the Patriots biggest obstacle to return to the Super Bowl.

Let’s not forget the 2001 season and the 2002 Super Bowl the Patriots played in. They knocked off that greatest show on turf with gunslinger Kurt Warner at the helm and Marshall Faulk carrying the pig as a 14 point dog. Kraft, Belichick, and Brady are still in position to continue these winnings.

I wouldn't give NE the AFC East title just yet. It could easily be the Bills who are undefeated & lead that division now.

Also Buffalo is only a game back in the loss column, has the easier remaining schedule, and shit happens (e.g. as in key injuries) so at +1000 might be worth a small shot.

X-Files,

Great avatar!

You are correct on the Bills having the easier schedule, but this could change in 2 weeks giving the Patriots the slight advantage for scheduling down the road. While both the Bills and Patriots have common opponents remaining, Dolphins, Cowboys, Ravens, Eagles, and Browns, I’m looking at this as having a 2 game lead as of now for New England based off their win in Buffalo already.

I see the Bills as a wildcard making some noise again in the postseason, but ultimately losing to experienced nostalgia such as the Patriots. I’m certain once Brady retires, they’re be multiple parties in New York. Best of luck on your ML bet.

Easy to destroy teams when your schedule thus far is made up of nothing but bottom feeders lol

I know that patriots defense will go down as top 3bdeneses maybe even top 2 ever after this season. But ... I could not believe my eyes watching Darnold lastnight! Wow ... he was god awful... scared, terrified back there.... threw 95% of his passes off his back foot. Just last week not sure who it was stephen A and a few other people saying sam darnold is the best qb out of the "NY" teams. I see daniel jones performance against the Pat's on short rest during a thursday night game compared to darnold lastnight..... not even close.... darnold did not want to be In there at all.

I do not think that pats are overrated.. But if you do, you have a great opportunities the rest of the way to grab big pt spreads vs them.. starting with a CLE team this weekend. +13 rt now.

Belicheat is amazing, he totally outcoached the Jets last night, Darnold had no clue where the pass rush was coming from, all game.

Did you hear the segment that he has meetings with the team and reviews each official one by one, their tendencies, their preferences, all of that?

Pats SOS is really weak so far, though, and I agree they are a bit overrated, until they play the coming stretch of decent teams the jury is still out, though I think if they stay healthy they are a playoff team and will win a game or two, at least.

I hate the pats however they find a way to win . Not to mention there defense this year really puts there offense in good situations. Let see how many points this brown team can put up on them with an extra week to not suck
