Verbal abuse, like physical abuse, is simply not acceptable.
Though, perhaps, it's acceptable in some places & households where certain Rx members reside, & nations full of terrorists.
Perhaps they need to grow some morality.
Driving away good cappers is not beneficial for punters, but the books. So i have to always wonder if those making comments such as the above are in leaque with the books, or forgot to take their meds, & what of any value do they bring to the forum.
Isn't it the job of a mod to sort of kinda read the threads & posts in their assigned area, or even the entire forum and know what's being posted ?
This place ain't that big that a mod can't just read everything himself, or is it ?
Rubber room doesn't need moderation, politics is RR #2, out of season sports should draw few posts.

We have some really good sports handicappers here posting their plays and guys will come into their threads and shit on their plays. This happened last night with Seer who is an excellent handicapper. When he posts, people should pay attention. Seer is sometimes a sensitive poster and will leave if he gets shit in his picks threads so I reported the stupid bashing post from Large Marge. I don't want Seer to leave.
So, I reported the post and what happens? A mod singles me out in the thread to say my report has been received and Large Marge is gone. Basically, the mod tried to embarrass me by telling everyone I reported the post. I don't care and am not embarrassed as I don't want Seer to leave but the point is a mod tried to single me out and make me out to be an ass. Nobody else gets a reported post singled out here.
A full time paid mod who does nothing but read threads 8 hours a day 7 days a week & deal with offensive posts & posters? Clearly that isn't happening & what the REPORT button is designed to help. If the RX obtained some volunteer, non paid, members to moderate the forums, this place could be much more of a draw to those looking for a safe environment to post. But, then, the question is, is the ownership interested in cleaning the quality of the place up which would then draw in sharp posters who will help players win. That wouldn't be good for the books. Or are the powers that be only interested in the bottom line, e.g. advertising dollars & pleasing the advertisers? If the latter does that mean being happy with good posters being driven away by less than adequate moderation in order to keep the post counts high?
X: We all know this place theoretically exists to make people money, it's not a nonprofit charity or a hobbyist type forum for tropical fish or parachuting enthusiasts. There is no reason mods can't be paid a few hundred a week to,,, well moderate !
There's no reason to drive away winning cappers, followers will still go broke by over betting, taking worse lines, adding plays, getting cute and fine-tuning, tweaking the bets...
Sports betting is all based on one principle...

As to keeping post counts up, that's a laugher ! No reason mods can't get a stipend of sorts and working here for free would be just stupid, I'm not opposed to charities, but this ain't one !

The idea of volunteering & offering one's time for free is quite a common one for many causes, e.g. helping to make "the RX Great again". They don't consider their time given volunteering to be "stupid".
I, for one, would be willing to volunteer time to moderate the forums. In fact, in a way, i already do so by using the REPORT button, etc, but would be willing to take on a bigger & more official non-paid role. I'm sure others would also. Likewise i volunteer time here by posting info i feel is useful to helping my fellow gambling comrades win.
