Friend of a friend deposited 2K and ran it up to 15K. They told him he's a pro and they are keeping all monies because they don't accept pros.

In all seriousness, that sucks really bad.

But also, with roughly 20+ sportsbooks rated better, why play at a place like that?

I am not exactly sure, but I think he lives in Chicago, and they advertise a lot on the radio in Chicago because I've heard the ads. I'm sure he didn't know any better, just like I started playing with betonsports.com many years ago strictly because they advertised on the Jim Rome radio show everyday.

I understand...it's a shame they take advantage of players when they have such a big advantage overall.

If he would have busted out, nothing would have been said, obviously. Fuck them.

Why didn’t you warn your friend about them before the deposit?

Did they at least give him his 2k back?
I don't believe so. They say he defrauded them by winning. I read their rules, and it does say some ridiculous shit paraphrased, anyone that bets like a winner will be guilty of defrauding the book and have all funds confiscated.

It also says "whether you are a complete newbie or a seasoned pro, we cater to you and want you to have the best experience on the internet."

They also advertise on Marc Lawrence's PLAYBOOK (football)

I would have your friend of a friend reach out to Marc Lawrence and share his experience. Tell him the only reason he signed up there is because of Playbook and he trusted Lawrence. Your friend of a friend may get some help from Lawrence. At the same time, why not have him open a case at SBR and see what transpires. At this point there is nothing to lose and all to gain.

There's no guarantee of finding a paper copy of Marc Lawrence's PLAYBOOK (football) now. Paper copy was bought in late August and it said remove after October xx some date. On the back cover and in several pages inside the paperback are pages devoted to MyBookie. I hope the guy gets his money, but wanting the magazine removed from shelves sometime in October, may be a "tell" of what they already knew.

Advertising is a powerful tool, unless you're like the water or electric company, you have to advertise in order to get business.
