Gordon Ramsay just opened a steakhouse here in kc. Reviews have been really good from everything ive seen. Seems to be running around $200-300 a head for appetizer, dinner w/ sides, and a dessert. Cocktails seem to run from $15-22 per. Do you find the quality is so much better its worth it or would you stick with your $12 burgers n fries????? Etc

50 bucks per person is about as much as I’ll pay, and that’s anniversary, valentines only

Those prices seem to be than the prices in two of his restaurants I've been to. One in AC and one in LV. You an easily spend $ 100 per person not including drinks, but you could also spend $ 40.

I've spent $200-250 for a meal for me and the wife a few times. Off the top of my head recently at Charlies steakhouse in Orlando and at Burns steakhouse in Tampa. I will say that both of these meals included drinks and apps and shit too. You could go to either of those places and keep it around $100 for a couple if you just get a main course and drink cokes. The last time I was in Vegas I don't recall Ramseys steakhouse in hotel Paris being overly expensive, but I didn't eat there, just glanced at the menu when we walked by.

I spend around $400-$500 at my favorite restaurant with my wife. Only eat there maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Jeff Rubys steakhouse in Louisville.

I have spent $800 once on a meal where we had Japanese Wagyu.

No way you’re spending $400-500 at Ruby. Been there many times, are you two each eating 3 streaks each??

Now I know you’re full of shit. Lol

Like $300 a head is kind of insane, unless you're a multimillionaire, that's easily a months' worth of pretty decent food for one person at the grocery store, maybe b
Not lobster and crab legs, but way better than scrambled eggs, tuna and Mac & cheese every meal

We get a few drinks, myself a couple old fashoneds and my wife dirty martini, sometimes two. Tiger shrimp appetizer(ordering an extra shrimp for an even four). I get the caesar salad, my wife the wedge. We each order the "steak and lobster". Its a filet and lobster tail, most expensive entree on the menu. Several sides to share such as the lobster mac n cheese. I usually order the chocolate cake for dessert as its the best chocolate cake in the world. My wife will sometimes get crem brulee. With a very nice tip as their service is always excellent thats a $400-$500 meal. And worth every penny

Life is really good if $500 bucks at a restaurant or $1,000 or two to take the family to a sporting event, concert, etc. Is no big deal !

If I had like 100 million dollars I just couldn't blow it frivolously, it's not in my nature, my parents grew up in the Great Depression era and their values are instilled in me.

Sure I'd fly 1st class, cattle car coach is for poor midgets, but I'm not buying a private jet either !

I wouldn't buy some ridulous 300 k car

I would have to like disappear almost like I was in the witness protection program if I won Powerball or something,

I sure as Hell wouldn't be like that Jack Whittaker fool that won Powerball for 300 M, or you're average idiot N BA or NFL player.

I'd will much of it charity after taking care of family.

I'd literally disappear into nowhere town like a Taos or Flagstaff or something and nobody would have a clue I'm the richest cat in town !

I'd be the anonymous donor that funds the construction off a library or something !

You have to find the balance. Make sure to save enough to set up for a good retirement/rainy day but also understand you only live once, and allow yourself to have good experiences. My wife and I are early 30s making over $225k combined so life is good right now. But we are always aware that things can change in an instant. So we save a nice chunk but also spend money on nice experiences while we have the opportunity.

My wifes best friend and her husband are young a successful. Shes moving up the corporate ladder and he is an air traffic controller. But they refuse to spend a penny. Wont take their kids to disney world because they say tickets are too high. Might go to the beach in florida once every 3 years in a shitty condo. Ill just never understand that.

I won't list my net worth like our resident high roller and have eaten at some very expensive restaurants either paid for myself or we have a lot of vendor type events and have had some amazing meals. And never have said afterword that what well worth the $300+ bill, usually quite the opposite and I have buyers remorse. Vendor pays, of course it was worth it!

I would be hard pressed to tell the difference from say a "high end" Texas Roadhouse steak vs one at Ramsey's in Vegas. I've had both and yes the Ramsey's was better but 4X better? No way. I also live in Nebraska where you can get a fantastic home grown steak for $20-$25 bucks.

I'm not in the Midwest type of region where beef rules, here in New England area seafood is what we are noted for, it's not prime season now, but pretty much $20- 30 gets a good meal, and we have some really top shelf pizza joints particularly in New Haven !

$300 for dinner is like really high, it better be damn good and then some, like a happy ending to top it off !

It really is a months' worth of food in one meal !

I'd much rather go out and buy high-end rib-eyes for $15-$20/lb and grill them myself than pay 2-3 times that and risk
someone else not cooking it right.

I can afford the meals that Justin is bragging about, but would be horrified to waste that kind of money on a meal.

For me, there are much better places for me to spend my money.

Same here. I don't think I've ever paid $50 for a steak.

Theres nothing wrong with indulging a few times a year on expensive meals if that is something you enjoy doing.
