Hate to see this type of reckless and barbaric behavior. I'd like to see him gone for the rest of the year.

He would miss rest of 2019 season if I was commissioner. The helmet swinging is for practice only, not for fans to see. He wouldn’t be only player though. I would give Rudolph a game or two along with the Pitt players that were punching and kicking Garrett while he was on ground. Tomlin might not be too upset if league sits Randolph after how poorly he played. That was one of the worst qb play I have seen this season.

Rest of the year and Mason should get a nice sized fine if not a game or so as well since his actions started the whole nasty situation.

Mason did not start anything? Garrett tackled him 4 seconds after Mason threw the ball... is he supposed to just get roughed up and do nothing back? Garrett has a history of hitting QBs late dont come in here with that.

Sorry but even with the late sack, you don't just decide it is okay to start pulling at his helmet and trying to take it off. Guarantee if he did not do that, it never escalates to his helmet being pulled off and being used as a weapon which Myles is 100% wrong for. However both players were in the wrong, one more so way more obviously.

Seems like a lay up for the league office. The rest of the season it should be. With only 6 games left, it's an easy call. If it were week #2 some would be saying 6-8 games, some would say the whole year, would be a tougher spot.
Going into next season seems to much and too messy for the league. Garrett has some other iffy behavior and is also a premier player. I'm sure the NFL doesn't want this to be a huge story for too long, it's an embarrassment. They aren't going to let it carry over into next year. Rest of this season makes it perfectly clean.

Couple other notes:

Mason isn't totally innocent either. Even if a late hate after a rough game, he was digging at Garrets helmet, looked like trying to get it off, so I can't even blame Mile for ripping his helmet of Mason. Then after that Mason was still going at him, but there is no excuse for swinging the helmet at him.

Garrett got lucky! He connected hard with the helmet but Mason was unfazed and not injured. Can you imagine if Mason got knocked out with blood dripping from his head? It would have seemed 10x worse and Garrett could be facing a lifetime ban and possible real world assault charges.

the nfl wont want it to carry into next season, the most they will do is the remainder of the season.

That's cruel and unusual punishment
cruel and unusual would be sentencing him to live in San Francisco

truly they should take the NHL's lead on this and make it the same penalty that Marty McSorely received. Miss rest of the year, file criminal charges of assault with weapon, and then get an additional 1 year ban to start when the court case is decided. In Marty's case that ended his career because he was old but for Garrett he'd be back for training camp 2021. I think McSorely got 18 months probation as a criminal sentence but did not get locked up.
