Arkansas, Missouri and Ole Miss are all looking for new football coaches. Chad Morris,
Barry Odom and Matt Luke have been given their walking papers. Now the search begins.

Names you are likely to see for these jobs include Lane Kiffin (met with Arkansas this weekend),
Mike Leach (Wash St.), Justin Fuente (Va Tech), Mike Norvell (Memphis - he's interested in FSU),
Luke Fickell (Cincy). Other names will come up as the process goes on.

Sidenote: Joe Brady, LSU's passing coordinator is hot property as he is being pursued by Texas
and probably others.

Fired FSU coach Willie Taggart has expressed interest in the South Florida job with the firing of
Charlie Strong.

Welcome any news or comments you might have...………………………...

South Florida seems to be moving swiftly with reports the search has been narrowed down
to three names. Clemson co-offensive coordinators Tony Elliot and Jeff Scott and Willie (
I have 7 lives) Taggart. Un-frecken-believable S. Fla would consider the Tag.

*Another hot name for any bigtime opening is Matt Cambell (Iowa State). He might be hard
to get because it's reported he likes Iowa State.

*How in the name of Vanderbilt does the school keep Derek Mason. Mason better be glad
he's black or he would be history two years ago.

Jim McElwain has emerged as a candidate for the Missouri job. McElwain has SEC experience
having coached Florida for three seasons and working two seasons at Alabama as offensive
coordinator. He coached Central Michigan this season and has an 8-4 record entering the league
championship game.

Memphis coach Mike Norvell looks to be the next Florida State coach...at least that's the rumor
going around Tallahassee. Ole Miss also has strong interest in Norvell.

Billy Napier (ULL) has expressed interest in the Ole Miss position and reports out of Oxford there
is some interest. Napier has done a great job at Louisiana during his two seasons there and also
worked under Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney. Personally, I think the 40 year old Napier would be
an excellent hire for Mississippi.

Bill Clark (UAB) is another excellent candidate schools should take a look at. He's a proven winner
both at the high school and college level.

Reports are Clay Helton (USC) will keep his job at least for one more year. I along with most every-
one else thought Helton was a goner.

Schools now seeking a new head coach: Arkansas, Boston College, Florida State, Missouri, Ole Miss,
New Mexico, Old Dominion, South Florida, UNLV, UTSA. Washington and Rutgers have hired new
coaches.

Add another school looking for a new head football coach. Colorado State and Mike Bobo
have parted ways. Bobo was a long time offensive coordinator at Georgia before taking
the Colorado State job and want have any problem joining an SEC team as an assistant
if he so chooses.

Names being mentioned as a replacement: Eliah Drinkwitch (App State HC), Billy Gonzales
(Florida OC), Jim McElwain (Cent. Mich HC), Jeff Choate (Montana HC) and Jay Hill (Weber
State HC).

Sidenote: Tulane coach Willie Fritz has interviewed with Arkansas and plans also to talk with
Missouri. Arkansas has previously interviewed Lane Kiffin (FAU).

Don’t be surprised if Bobo ends up with Muschamp..

I agree Coke. Bobo got a payoff of around $1.8 million from Colorado State so he has some time
if he wants to sit out a season. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at Georgia. He's well liked
and respected there by the higher ups. He'll be an offensive coordinator with someone soon.

Liberty University is preparing to make Hugh Freeze one of the Group of Five's highest
paid coaches. Being a private school, Liberty does not disclose salaries but I would guess
it will be in the $3 million plus range.

Washington State has given Mike Leach a one year contract extension extending his years
to five and a raise to $4 million per season.

UNLV has interviewed USC offensive coordinator Graham Harrell for its opening. Texas is
also interviewing Harrell for OC.

Steve Spurrier Jr. name has been thrown around for the South Florida position.

FAU is preparing to give Lane Kiffin a raise in order to fight off advances by other schools.

Indiana will announce today a new 7-year contract for coach Tom Allen that will
double his salary from $1.8 million to $3.9 million per year. Allen's current salary
is the lowest in the Big Ten. Indiana stepped up after Allen received serious interest
from Arkansas.

Jeff Tedford is stepping down at Fresno State after three seasons due to health
concerns. Tedford was 26-14 during his time with Fresno. He also spent eleven
seasons as head coach at Cal where, going 82-57 over that span. Indiana OC
Kalen DeBoer is expected to be a strong candidate for the job.

Lane Kiffin to Ole Miss. Not announced but sure looks like it from whispers coming
out of Oxford. (IF) Lane lands the job, he will face a brutal schedule his first season.
Five of the first seven games include Baylor, Auburn, LSU, Alabama and Florida. Ouch!

Kiffin must be the horniest man alive. He must have seen all that coed talent on Ole Miss' campus and it blinded him into taking a job that will end his head coaching career. Ole Miss will never be a contender for championships in the SEC West, and Kiffin will never get another head coaching job if he gets fired/dismissed from the Ole Miss job in three years.

Just a stupid fucking decision with the Missouri job available out there.

Missouri is an outlier, the northernmost SEC team, they used to get tons of good talent from Texas, kids wanted to play within the regional rivalires, the culture....Texas, TT, Baylor, A&M (back then), OK, OK state.
These days top players from FLA, GA, Bama, LA... they do not want to go to cold weather nothern (to them) Columbia, MO, they would rather go to Mississippi, in the middle of the fray, part of the culture. Also Missouri has been labeled as racist with the incidents several years ago and many players are reluctant to go there.

bobo is not liked by UGa fans or supporters. He was kept on because of Richt and they wanted him ran off a long time Pryor.

missouri is severely strapped for cash. They picked a bad time to fire Odom, it will come back to haunt them. Board is pissed AD is talking to lower level people, they will end up having to fire him and realize for themselves they aren’t as big as they thought.

Joining the sec should have made them rich. I have no clue why their finances are in such disarray, but their revenue has definitely done up from the conference payouts.
