5 P5 conference winners

Clemson
Oklahoma
LSU
Oregon
Oklahoma

Best G5 team

Memphis

Who are the next 2?

Baylor? Minny? Penn State? Notre Dame? Utah? Florida? Bama?

Would be interesting.

none of then are deserving. id rather see memphis boise or app state. they are all playing well and won their conference. if your gonna expand it give the little guys a real shot. any 2 loss non conference champ should never be considered to win the national championship in college football

5 P5 conference winners...
LSU
Ohio st
Clemson
Oregon
Oklahoma

Best/highest ranked G5 champ team...
Memphis

The last two go to...
1. The highest ranked remaining P5 team.
2. The highest ranked G5 champ.

Seeding for playoff in that order... 1 vs 8...etc.

The 8 team playoff would be

1 LSU vs 8 Memphis
2 Ohio State vs 7 Baylor
3 Clemson vs 6 Oregon
4 Oklahoma vs 5 Georgia

The game would be played at the better seeded team's stadium

This way if you win your conference, then you are in. Maybe its an incentive for teams to play better out of conference schedules?

I like how Georgia played Notre Dame

My only problem is the next 2 teams were Baylor and Wisky and they didnt really play anyone out of conference

LSU would be like a 28 pt favorite and win by 60. then every media outlet would campaign to go back to 4 teams. lol

If you had an 8 team playoff, Notre Dame would some how weasel their way in even if they had 4 loses.

LSU would be a heavy favorite and would probably blow Memphis out. But let’s play the game and see what happens. Give Cinderella a chance. Always fun in March madness when a 14/15/16 is hanging around and actually pulls the game out

Lets just eliminate a system where we wouldn't have upsets anymore... lets just go back and vote a champion...why play it out at all ?

The crazy thing is that:

Ohio state would be playing Oregon in the Rose
LSU would be playing in the Sugar.

Would Clemson 100% have to go to orange or would they be able to play LSU in sugar?

We could have possibly have 3 different national champions this season under the old system

This season showed that an 8 team playoff is not needed.

We would then have to listen to teams 9 and 10 complain how they got robbed.

I agree how 8 wasnt needed this year. Some seasons we only need 2. Some we only need 4. Some we need 8.

This season we were lucky that there was only 4 and not much controversy for number 4 as we didnt have many 1 loss teams. An 8 team playoff would have had a better argument had Utah beaten Oregon and Bama beaten Auburn.

It would have also been interesting if Memphis had gone Undefeated

Bama would never have fallen as far as they did after losing to Auburn, seriously

I think the message they sent was that Bama was not part of the top 4, there was no interest in them, they didn't get any support and they plummeted

If the top 8 mattered, they'd have gotten more love

Obviously pure speculation on my part
