Now get your pads on you have 5 more weeks of practice everyday, lifting weights and conditioning drills. if you are really lucky you get to play in Detroit @)

I got to play in bowl games all fore years, even played in the Sugar Bowl. Yes, the 1st one was exciting, It was in Atlanta. The Sugar bowl was exciting too, they give out watches, rings, shoes, shirts, jerseys, ect. The other two were consolation games, nobody wanted to play in and certainly no one wanted to practice.

But, nothing is free in life, practice everyday, and ahhhh there was this little thing they call exams.

Today, just jump in the transfer portal, avoid the whole practice thing, and sit at home and watch better games then the one you would have played in. If you have any shot at the NFL, just don't show up for anything. They got their pound of flesh, let someone new work on his life time of brain damage. ALS sounds like fun, why take up a spot from someone else who deserves to enter his name in the ALS lottery.

I think the only games you can trust players to give 100% will be the playoffs. Last year UGA was a favorite of mine all year. Then they show up in a worthless bowl game vs Texas and it was dive city.

You make some good points

The ALS comments are unnecessary and tasteless.

Yes, ALS is nothing to take lightly, I've seen the end stages. However, It is reality and should be out there.

If you are genetically gifted at 6'2 215 and run a 4.5 40. And you make the conscious decision to produce offspring with a 6'2 college basketball player. No, not the gender neutral one. Keep in mind when your boys are 7 years old and you introduce them to football. They are likely to excel, and quickly adopt a love and passion for the sport. It can quickly become who they are. In addition to all the wonderful benefits of sports stardom, comes the reality that you are also buying them a lottery ticket to the ALS club. While ALS is quite rare, CTE is been shown to exist in most HS players.

If you are 5'9 and 250lbs and played DL in HS or some D3 college and you marry a 5'4 slightly chubby cheerleader. Don't ever, under any circumstance let your kids play football at any age. Yes, you may have some slight athletic gifts, but don't let that fool you into believing you've produced D1 talent. Your son, will likely end up sub 5'9, 265LBS, because he drank protein drinks for 5 years. If he really adopts a love for football he might end up at a Jr college as a NT, while firmly clutching his ALS lottery ticket, for the rest of his life.

Yes, I'm a hypocrite, I love the sport, loved playing it, and have adopted a love for speculating on the outcomes of games. But, yes it is horribly destructive, corrupt, and laden with greed, but that's what makes it so appealing. Oh and that's not even bringing Joepa into the discussion.
