Was curious if boxing increases strength that much. The cardio would be great I imagine. I guess the repetitive hitting of the bag at different angles would add strength, also to the core.

One of the best ' middleweight ' world champions forgotten & gets little respect ....MICHAEL ' second to ' NUNN . he was released from prison earlier this year ( 24 years in prison ) for drug offences , nunn was always in trouble with the law for various offences . now back home in the quad - cities . he deserves to be in the boxing hall of fame . He was 58-4 ( career ) , he was the ibf middleweight champion from 1988-91 (5 title defenses ) , what world super middleweight champion 1992-94 ( 4 title defenses ) . I wish nunn the best now that he's back home & maybe he will get back into boxing somehow / someway . anyway ...... welcome back home michael

George Chuvalo was the toughest M-Focker ever, he fought all the greats, didn't win but guys like Ali, would tell you it was the toughest fight of their career, he's still alive, to my best knowledge ?

George was a tough fighter, fought the top guys like Ali and Frazier, nobody ever knocked him off of his feet.

He finished at 72-19-2, but he was a tough fighter , you might outpoint him,but you'd damn well know you were in a fight.

I wouldn't fight him today and he's like 80 !

Yes he was, ask Ali

Dude wasn't a flashy sort, but as tough as they come, beatable by a top 3 pro, but he'd give you 15 rounds and you would know it !

Likewise! When I was younger I would always get into fights, thinking I was king shit! I was lucky I joined my local mma club. Having guys throw me around like a rag doll taught me humility and respect. Kept me out of trouble ever since.
