1) best hardware for full house quality coverage, maybe up to 4 TV's
2) purchase DVR's separately? comes with the service?
3) Want local channels, ESPN, Fox Sports, Fox News, plus all those cooking shows, and house hunting and reality TV my wife likes (Don't think her channels are an issue anywhere).
4) Want to be able to purchase stuff like Red Zone
5) Want on demand library
6) like watching old movies, giving up all the movie channels Cox offers

Initial research pointing me towards YouTube or Hulu Service, maybe with a Netflix subscription?

Startup costs not an issue, looking to significantly reduce my monthly bundle service of about $ 331 per month

Obviously will need to purchase internet services

Should I have BestBuy come give us a consultation? Not even my kids giving me much help :)

TIA

I’m casually looking myself.

hulu live may be your best bet.

you can add espn plus (and Disney plus if need be)

can also add premium channels for a monthly fee

willie, I bought one of those prodigy boxes the guy here sells several months ago and have completely cut directv. 310 bucks per box. you get every channel you could imagine. since the first one, ive bought three others for my house and family. the only other purchase ive made was the internet booster things so I can plug directly in to those with an ethernet cable. my wife doesnt like visible cords and stuff but it doesnt look to messy. again, id highly recommend the boxes. i'll be watching red zone today with no issues. let me know if you want the guys contact info. hes a very nice guy. good luck

local channels prob need hulu
i have used slingtv for several years now and it has been perfect for any of the cable networks (espn, sec network, redzone, nbatv). can buy things like hbo if you want.
if you can get away from the need for local channels, using sling can reduce monthly costs by at least 20 bucks

amazonprime video has a pretty good on demand library
tbh, it's easier to pay 4.99 every time you view than like 50 bucks a month unless you're watching an old movie every fucking night

+1
Got 2 prodigy boxes and never looked back.
Everything you'd ever want to watch including locals and all live sports under the sun.
I even killed my netflix and hulu subs as the box has all of that.
If you have to cover 4 TVs I'd get 2 prodigys and 2x roku, firestick, chromecast, whatever, just to be able to stream something on the other 2. Unless they are smart, I'd just get the Pluto free live tv app.

If you must get some streaming subscription I preferred youtubeTV over hulu live, have had both.

$600ish one time cost for 2 prodigys, get a google mesh (300ish).
For under a grand you now have everything you want with no bills ever. I haven't had a cable bill in 2+ years.

Agree on the Elite Prodigy Boxes. You can get firesticks for the other TV's and jailbreak them. It will be comparable to having Netflix on those TV's and full cable on the other 2. Jail break really only means changing a setting on the firesticks to allow downloads from unknown sources.

Here has been my experience:

I am like you, I had 10 Directv boxes with all sports/movie packages and my bill was 400+ per month and I finally got sick of it.

Over the past few months, I have tried 2 diff IPTV box providers that were ok but their guides sucked and that annoyed me. I then tried Nitro TV and Nitro Tv Ozzie on Amazon sticks. They were pretty good but had buffering issues on big games and it drove me nuts. So for a couple of months, I just used Sling on my Amazon sticks when I had an issue with Nitro, and it was fine as my backup. End of October the Nitro NFL gms got worse and I was fed up and gave Tony a try with the Prodigy boxes. His boxes have been awesome, giving way more options and way more stable. I have purchased 4 of his boxes for office and bedroom and have kept my Sling subscription via Amazon sticks -- It's like $50 a month but it is good for my teenagers to use in their rooms, as I am not ready to turn them on to pirated TV boxes at their age. Also if there ever is an issue I want the backup because I have never had an issue with Sling.

Long story short, there are a ton of options out there. Most of these services suck at 1pm eastern NFL -- I like Sling for Redzone etc but the only local I get is local Fox - It's good for me to have a backup though and acts as my insurance in case of any issues.

Tony's boxes have been the best IPTV service I have used -- I was sick of Directv bills and am glad I switched, just hoping these boxes and this game have longevity.
