Beautiful day in South Florida - 80 degrees and another dry afternoon. Looking for longshots today...

Race 1 - #4 Guaco (8-1) Has been training very well over at Calder for his debut. As good a chance as any and at better odds than some. Seriously, though, this race is a crap shoot.

Race 2 - #3 Perfect Revenge (6-1) First try on dirt was promising. Saffie claimed and seems to have him primed to score today. Look for a big stretch run.

Race 3 - #11 Tons of Gold (10-1) Don't like the post as he doesn't have much early speed and will have to navigate traffic, but for some reason I just can't look away.

Race 4 - #6 Touchpoint (10-1) A whole slew of well-bred, well-connected first timers in here so we're just throwing darts. Could do worse than Navarro and Zayas with a Tapiture colt at what could be 6-1 or better.

Race 5 - #8 Lady Noguez (8-1) Where's the speed? I expect Torres will make the lead, go too fast, and fade in the stretch. Lady Noguez is finally on the surface she wants, Tyler should be in a good spot.

More later (after I see how the first couple play out)

Best of luck to all the horseplayers!

Race 6 - #5 Unrighteous (4-1) There isn't much speed in here and this guy has been firing bullets in preparation for his debut.

Race 7 - #2 Masterday (12-1) I have been less than successful backing CD shippers this meet, which is the only reason I laid off #4 Sounion (7-2). Masterday had trouble in last and draws Paco, who has been riding very well lately.

Race 8 - #2 Piece by Piece (20-1) Ok, ok, I know she has never faced winners and looks to be miles over her head in here. But, it's worth a couple of bucks to root for Johnny V to try and steal this one as lone speed.

Race 9 - #7 Malibu Max (15-1) Endorsed and Cutting Humor will both be bet hard (and deservedly), but I'll be backing the old guy and hope Navarro can work a little magic today at a big price.

Race 10 - #9 Exulting (6-1) He has found a comfort zone on the grass in his old age and if you look at the race in August at Kentucky Downs you'll see a similar set-up to this race. I expect him to be thundering home in the stretch.

Race 11 - #1 Saratoga Colonel (9-2) Doubt I'll get anything close to 9-2, but will back him at 3-1 or better.

What a day. I am bloodied and bruised. But, that can happen when you're looking for that one longshot bomb to make your whole day.

Race 1 - #4 Guaco (8-1) ran out
Race 2 - #3 Perfect Revenge (6-1) 2nd $3.20
Race 3 - #11 Tons of Gold (10-1) 3rd
Race 4 - #6 Touchpoint (10-1) 4th
Race 5 - #8 Lady Noguez (8-1) ran out
Race 6 - #5 Unrighteous (4-1) 4th
Race 7 - #2 Masterday (12-1) 2nd $14.20
Race 8 - #2 Piece by Piece (20-1) ran out
Race 9 - #7 Malibu Max (15-1) 4th
Race 10 - #9 Exulting (6-1) ran out

If you played $10 WP on each selection, you lost $82 today. Better day tomorrow (can't be worse).
