I had LSU beating bama this year.. My theme that Saban and Bama have peaked and are in free fall was the reason I took LSU over Bama.
After watching the game film again, Bama's defense is horrible. Yes, they may have superior talent still, but their coaching is horrible. Saban better fire his DC ASAP. The technique on display vs LSU from Bama's DB's was some of the worse I've see from a D1 school. Bama stood no chance against LSU simply because they could not play effective man coverage. They were confused at the LOS, got zero pressure on the WR's, free releases every where. Bama was forced to try to attack Burrows with blitzes, that only exposed DB's that were incapable of covering LSU's Wr's. UGA was just as bad as Bama, horrible play from their DB's, who coaches these guys?
To shut Burrows down you need deep and very well coached DB's to challenge them at the LOS, no free releases. LSU will send 5 out on most plays, they thrive on getting even just 5 yard completions. So it has to be man all the time then, Clemson needs a free hitter to attack Burrows on the ground, Que Mr Simmons.
There is no zone defense Clemson can play with LSU sending all 5 out on every play.

LSU's defense will give up lots of points tonight, 6 teams this year have scored more then 40 points on LSU.
I've got the game at 66 points total tonight, I'd lean on the over, but watch to see how much the refs let Clemson get away with attacking LSU wr's at the LOS. This game will not be won in the trenches, it will be defined at the LOS out where the WR's and DB's will face off.
