With 2019 in the books, USA Today Sports has come out with their very early
Top 25 rankings for 2020. Take a look...……..

1. Clemson...2. Alabama...3. Ohio St....4. LSU....5. Oklahoma
6. Oregon...7. Penn State...8. Florida...9. Notre Dame...10. Iowa
11. Georgia...12. Michigan...13. Auburn...14. Texas...15. Memphis
16. Cincinnati...17. USC...18. Wisconsin...19. Texas AM...20. Boise
21. Iowa St....22. Baylor...23. Cal...24. Washington...25 North Carolina

New Coaches: Memphis, Baylor, Washington
New QB: Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Iowa, Georgia, Washington

Not a bad list. I like Texas A&M, USC and Florida higher. Also, I would
have Ohio State second and Alabama third mainly because of the QB
returning.

Welcome your comments...………………….

I think Georgia will be better without Fromm at qb. Should be more potent on offense to go with a top tier defense

Georgia has some rebuilding to do. Smart has recruited well but so has a number of other SEC schools.
I though Fromm was a good quarterback...he just didn't have any receivers to work with this season.

LSU shouldn't be anywhere near the top 10. Only three returning starters on offense and defense.

You are probably right. I wasn't aware they were losing that many starters. Of course losing that dang QB is the big one.
Might be the best one season I have ever seen by a college quarterback.

True. Maybe only one closer was Cam during his championship year

some of the runs he had ,against LSU for one and the huge comeback at Bryant Denny was something

I have seen a few different sites with their "way too early rankings". Always fun to look at just like mock drafts and season projections.

Curious to see the "way too early rankings" that were posted in Jan 2019 and the actually preseason 2019 rankings and how much they differed?

Of course the "way too early rankings" are just a gauge but always fun to look at to see where your team stands (or if they're even on there)

Auburn and LSU were the only 2 teams to win the Nat’l Championship with a D ranked outside the Top 25 in the BCS/Playoff era. Granted, Auburn only had to win one game. Definitely says something about the QB for sure...

I just looked at Cam's offense weapons on the national championship team. The only players i recognize in the NFL are Michael Dyer and Cody Parkey.

Talking about doing MORE with LESS

If Newman can live up to his assumed ability this will be UGAs best opportunity to win a NC under Kirby. The D is nasty and very deep. Do have to go to Bama early season.

Florida at 8.....lol. Lost all their playmakers on both sides of the ball. Return a very average QB. Oline will still suck. MuLLLen also has about a .500 record in the SEC......

I guess anything to build preseason hype.

Georgia has brought in Todd Monken as their new offensive coordinator.

He will earn his money with a new QB, WRs and RB. I think Georgia is about right
at No. 11 for pre-season hype. Lots of holes to fill on offense.

Has that guy been anywhere longer than 3 years?

Not near as many holes as LSU has on O.

And as much as it kills me to say it......Clemson should be hands down the best team next year. Pair that with the HS schedule they play they can sleepwalk into the playoffs. Then it will be on Dabo to not screw it up.

I could see how someone might think that....if they weren't familiar with the Tigers' program. LSU lost two linemen, a TE and obviously the quarterback but they have plenty of depth at O-line and they have a TE that was the Gatorade national player of the year in Gilbert. Nobody could replace Burrow, but Myles Brennan is going to surprise a lot of people with how good he is at quarterback next year.

With the receivers and running backs LSU should be good enough on offense for a 10 win season.....but no way are they a top 5 team.

Clemson is a lock for the playoffs. They are loaded and have the no 1 recruiting class coming in again
