Joey B continued what he had been doing all season into the Playoff. He
had good skill players around him (Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Terrance
Marshall, Thaddeus Moss, Clyde Edwards) to work with and he took advantage
of them. Chase is the best receiver in college football in my opinion with a
tip of the hat to Bama's Jerry Jeudy. It will be a long time before any quarter-
back puts up the numbers Burrow did in the Playoff if ever.

60 of 88 for 956 yards and 12 touchdowns. Also ran for 79 yards.

No one wants to make the statement, but that is probably the best college QB of all time. I'm happy to listen to varying opinions, but you'll have to present a helluva candidate.

By the way.....next year's receivers group at LSU will be better.

Gonna disagree that he is probably the best college qb of all time.

He had 1 amazing year with STUDS playing skill positions.

His 2018 stats were nothing with nothing

Did he have 1 of the best years ever for a college qb? Yes he did But best of all time? Thats like calling Lamar Jackson the GOAT

Who are you offering as an alternative?

Not sure who the best is as i have no time to research at the moment but:

Leinart? Tebow? There are plenty others.

Didnt you have a longshot ticket on him winning the heisman?

No greatest qb of all time would be a pre season longshot to win the heisman when entering his final year in school

Don't post much but am on this forum for wagering advice/trends quite frequently. Die hard Gators fan in CFB.

There is no doubt that was the greatest single season QB performance I've ever seen in 20 years of watching CFB. Stats, eye test, and just incredible plays. Checks all the boxes, sad it's only going to be for 1 year.

Rumor in the air is LSU is going after D'Erig King to replace Burrow.

King is a grad-transfer possibility from Houston.

Does Oklahoma have their QB for next season? Rumor a few months ago had him going to either Oklahoma or staying in Houston. However, LSU is now quite enticing!!

Come on Pete, calm down a little, we all can understand your jubilation after a great football game win resulting in a National Championship for your beloved LSU Tigers but to label this team's quarterback (Burrow) the all-time greatest QB does leave room for debate. Let's filter down your claim one level and say, "those that have won a national championship" you could make a good argument for your Burrow's case, others could claim that Tim Tebow was the best but to suggest that Joe Burrows is the very best opens the door for recollecting some of the other great quarterbacks of all time......the list is lengthy.

Did you ever hear of Joe Montana, John Elway, Vince Young, Doug Flutie, Davy O'Brian, Sonny Jorgensen, Otto Graham, Bart Starr, Jim Kelly, Fran Tarkenton,
Terry Bradshaw, Drew Breese, Sammy Baugh, Troy Aikman, Dan Marino, Bob Waterfield, Brett Favre, Johnny Unitas, Roger Staubach, and Tom Brady just to mention a few (did you ever see Unitas, and Staubach play......I did..), I know you never saw Johnny Lujack play at Notre Dame........I did as a Kid back in back in 1947, he was the Heisman winner that year and arguably the first great T-Formation passing QB's of all time......

No, I never saw Pop Warner or the Four Horseman play, I'm not that old but I did see Jim Taylor the great LSU running back (your Uncle) play many times as a Green Bay Packer, truly one of the greatest full-backs (battering rams) of all time.

Back to Joe Burrow: Was he the greatest player in college football this year, the Heisman committee and many others seemed to think so, FWI, I also agree.
Will he become a member of the partial list I mentioned above,.....Time will tell, he has a long way to go on the "rocky road" to stardom.

Okay, in your list above, which ones won the heisman AND a national championship. Provide THAT list and we'll start there.

then compare number of touchdowns, rank of opponents played and passing+rushing yardage.

nobody in your list beats Burrow.

Its equally "dumb" to compare different generations. Maybe it was the greatest single season, but it's all just a matter of opinions. You can't "prove" anything.

Just a dumb thing to say.

Not dumb just the truth, no way he's an ALL time great after riding the bench for 3 years, then transfers and has a dumpster fire season. Like Mack said above "calm down with the all time stuff". Just stick with the greatest single season talk

You're trying to promote the notion that Joe Burrow isn't in the conversation at all, after he won the Championship, the Heisman, the Davey O'Brien and set every passing record available against seven top ten teams.

That's bullshit.

Oh, and Mack Donald.....did you know that Staubach did not attend the Naval Academy for four years? That's right, he transferred in for his Junior year and didn't achieve half of what Joe Burrow did. Your entire list is a bunch of guys that had great PRO careers....but don't come anywhere close to what Burrow did. Troy Aikman, Dan Marino, Brett Favre, Terry Bradshaw and Tom Brady.....GTFOH.

As a Bama fan. Joe Burrow had the single best season I have ever witnessed by a QB and CFB player. He broke every record possible and accomplished every goal possible. I can’t name another player that did that.
